I'm inclined to agree, Lauren. 9/11 clearly was a great deal more to do with the "Pearl Harbour" event to usher in the Project for a New American Century then budgetary reasons. But at the same time creating the best foreign enemies money can buy, as the US does, as well as being part and parcel of that ongoing effort, has the additional advantage of creating wars - which enormously benefit the weapons manufacturers and Pentagon, and as this is usually followed by the reconstruction phase, which enormously benefits the powerful construction corporations as well as the private military contractors etc., it furthers the US economy as well The conclusion is that "war is good" and at the same time maintains US dollar hegemony in the world.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.
