My first thought on viewing that new DPF masthead picture was that it was of some deeply patriotic event with JFK a little behind the curve in adopting the posture required by such occasions. The sort of thing (like for example the 'Star Spangled Banner' played in public) that illicits that well known and - to non-US citizens - deeply irritating knee-jerk ritualized behaviour: erect, motionless stance with jutting chin, misty-eyed gaze to the middle distance, right hand palm on left breast etc. Then I noticed everyone else in the picture had distinctly non-ritualised behaviour postures.
So what was JFK's problem ? :hmmmm2:
