Question about Mae Brussel and pre-internet CT information exchange

I did know that Lennon had helped out getting a few Realist issues to press, but not the direct connection to Mae. Good stuff, Peter.

The theory that Larry Flynt was shot because he wanted to publish politically dissident materials would seem to fit. After all, Flynt had "fuck you" money, an effective distribution system and he was his own man. But how does this square with the chronology that Flynt was shot in 1978 and Rebel mag wasn't unveiled until 1983.

That doesn't mean I think he was shot by a lone racist nut. This same shooter, Alan Greenblatt, was convicted of the 1980 shooting of Vernon Jordan as well.

OK, my mistake...it was not The Rebel magazine that got L.F. shot, but his putting up $1 million in 1977 [a HUGE amount then!] to each and every person who had significant information leading to those involved in or substantially helping to solve the assassination of President John F. Kennedy .....and was seen posing in public photos with JFK researchers, such as Bob Groden and others.

Now, I remember why the confusion in my mind. When he started the VERY nicely produced The Rebel Magazine he was threatened with death in no uncertain terms...and pulled the plug on a GREAT venue for top notch information on the secrets, black ops, dirty tricks, false-flags, etc.... They didn't like what was in the magazine nor the fact that L.F. could easily publish it for decades at a loss.
