In Barnett's above article, he describes the how the US chooses the export of war, famine and horror as an "away game":
"So where do we schedule the U.S. military's next round of away games?"
I find that description abhorrent and it speaks volumes to me about Barnett's personal psychology, if not his pathology. Why do we allow sick fuckers like this such success? That also speaks volumes about the state of our national psychology/pathology. Exporting war as a prized value a vile and cowardly --- it's "over there" and so we can all ignore it.
I also found his observation of Saddam as:
"a cutthroat Stalinist willing to kill anyone to stay in power, nor because that regime has clearly supported terrorist networks over the years."
To be intellectually bizarre, given that he then goes on to expound on how the US should export war to all sorts of nations - and millions of people - not once seeing or understanding that he is recommending the US does the exact same thing to stay in power.
If ever there was a case of a shadow projection in operation, this clearly is it.

The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.
