The author was an independent scholar, Jewish I believe, who was given access to some sensitive documents which were subsequently made public. He basically said there was no conspiracy on the part of the Allies to hide Nazi crimes against Jews, and that when they learned of them, the response of FDR and Churchill was to decide that the best way to end the suffering of the Jews was simply for the Allies to prevail against Hitler.
When you take Churchill's anti-Semitic writings into account, and I've read these before, and then add Project Paperclip to the mix, it's hard to take that conclusion very seriously.
It's an interesting document. I'll post it later.
Conjuring Hitler's final footnote concerns Churchill and the Final Solution. Preparata writes:
Quote:"...author Alfred Smith relates that on May 13, 1941, only three days after Hess landed, Churchill sent a memo to his colleague, Anthony Eden...It concludes with the words 'Like other Nazi leaders this man is potentially a war criminal...' Smith raises the question: 'Why did Churchill describe Hess as a potential war criminal?...The 'Crimes against humanity,' and in particular the Holocaust, did not take place until after the launch of Operation Barbarossa in June 1941, a month after Hess' flight.' Smith concludes: 'The only construction that makes sense of Churchill's remarks is that he was aware of the war crimes that were going to be committed in future' (Smith, Rudolf Hess, p.341.)"
The British stewards who conjured fascism from the economic ruins of post-WWI Europe needed Hitler and co to commit vast crimes against humanity. Under the mounds of bodies, they sought to hide their strategy and rationale.
