I've been reading about some of the "we're going to get into your head" programs for some time. I don't claim to be an expert or a deep researcher, but I've almost always posted the really creepy stuff to my blog -- the CIA/DARPA-driven work in neuroscience, psychology, psychiatry, etc. -- or some discussion board, etc., and much of it creeps me out. I don't think an emoticon will suffice to show how much.
But some of the "stuff" noted in the link I quoted above strike me as potentially good, and I've read much of it -- particularly three books by Michael Murphy, several by George Leonard, many by Richard Strozzi Heckler --, and I've used a HoloSync binaural brain-wave program in the past. All of those -- to use an old phrase of my son's baseball coach -- 'don't seem to have hurt me any'.
What and where are the danger points and dividing lines?
"Where is the intersection between the world's deep hunger and your deep gladness?"
