I'll have more to say about H. Zinn later. I'm profoundly saddened to hear this news....and too saddened to say much at this time. He was a hero of mine who spoke the truth of history [especially America's]to Power and to the People - the People's History...and anyone who thinks they know the History of America, but has not his People's History Of America series of books, you don't yet - but will after you read them. They are BANNED in most highshools in the USA, though used in some universities - some. They should be required reading for all - but are considered to tell to much truth and speak too much against the mythology. Howard, you lived a great life; made a gargantuan contribution; were an eloquent speaker and writer. You shall be missed, but you did more than your share. Others must pick up where you left off and see further by standing on your shoulders. A very sad moment. A very sad loss. There are so many shows totally dedicated to Zinn on http://www.democracynow.org and can be searched for there. I'll try to find some and post tomorrow. Goodbye Howard Zinn. Presente!

"Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience! People are obedient in the face of poverty, starvation, stupidity, war, and cruelty. Our problem is that grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem!" - Howard Zinn
"If there is no struggle there is no progress. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and never will" - Frederick Douglass
