More from Cryptome on Wikileaks
First link is a compendium of Assanges contributions to the Cyberpunks mailing list from @ 1996-2002. The guy is clearly a dedicated anti-authoritarian with impressive cryptography and general comms/computer techie stuff credentials. Like JY I think he probably deserves the benefit of any doubts - with the caveat that, like all intelligent members of the species Homo-Sapiens, he has an ego relatively less unmoderated by age than us old-timers - and he does seem intent on making a name for himself. No problem with that other than it's an ambition he has rather ungenerously accused JY of, which carries its own message.
The Wikileaks security link is also very interesting. Again I'm with JY. You simply cannot guarantee ANYONE anonymity no matter how whizz-bang your technology and systems. Boasting of such a capability is an invitation to yet younger Turks - at the behest (and probably with offers that cannot be refused of one kind or another from the spooks) to prove you wrong. The more time it takes the bigger the boast and the harder the eventual fall.
Anyway, having said all that I'm still an on-balance supporter of the Wikileaks project. We just need thousands more of them, that's all.
