Your post demands a lengthier response than that which I can muster this evening (two bottles of 1985 Chateau Margaux, courtesy of well-heeled friends, come with rules of engagement).
I would simply note that, for moral relativists, "justice," like "war crimes," is defined by the victors.
This of course is the materialists' argument, one based upon a core denial of the very existence of the "ethical spirit" of which Schweitzer spoke and wrote.
The justice you reference is universal and constant. And while I regularly approach despair to the extent that I voice my agreement with your conclusion, I could not go on if I did not accept that the arc of the universe bends toward the J-word.
Our enemies are not individuals, but families and broader institutions. And so we are left with a punishing contradiction:
The majority of JFK hit sponsors are dead.
The majority of JFK hit sponsors are not beyond the reach of justice.
