Thanks for the response to The Last Circle book. In answer to your questions:
Regarding the Zapruder tape that Robert Booth Nichols showed me at his apartment on February 13, 1992: Nichols had stated earlier in the conversation that "nothing is as it appears to be." Thus, I suspect that he showed a doctored version of the Z tape in order to prove his point, i.e., that the government can make the general populace believe anything.
I also suspected at the time that he was insulating himself by creating "plausible deniability" in the event that I wrote about our meeting (and the showing of the Zapruder tape) in a future book or article.
I hesitated to include the Z tape incident in my book because it could discredit me, but ultimately chose to include it in the chapter because it was indeed part of the meeting with Nichols, the truth is the truth, and it might have some significance in the future that I had been unaware of at the time. (It hasn't, yet).
Nichols had hinted that he obtained that Z tape from his business partner in FIDCO, Clint Murchison, Jr., who's father allegedly obtained the original Zapruder tape at some point after the Kennedy assassination. I had no way of proving that one way or the other.
You asked, "What's next?"
I am currently working on completing a book about the OKC bombing on April 19, 1995 entitled, "The Coup," due to be published sometime in late 2011 or early 2012. I was hired as a private detective by a client in 1997 to investigate the bombing (prior to the McVeigh trial), so I drove 11,500 miles across the U.S. interviewing people who claimed to have prior knowledge of the bombing before it occurred. This included some very notorious characters in Texas and Idaho, the former head of the Arizona Patriots in Phoenix, as well as Robert Millar at Elohim City (obtained some great photos inside Elohim City), and others.
I also interviewed investigators working for Stephen Jones, McVeigh's attorney, as well as reporters covering the case from the New York Times and the Rocky Mountain News, and one FBI agent who was the first to investigate the bombing. He was pulled off the case when he traced McVeigh back to Elohim City, as I did too.
Ultimately, Alexander Magnus, a wealthy benefactor, arranged to have one "witness" secretly videotaped at a hotel in Denver, Colorado. I was invited to attend the meeting, along with 5 other investigators. This "witness" said he had been approached in 1993 to assist with the bombing of the Murrah building in OKC, but he declined, so McVeigh was recruited instead.
What I learned during my investigation was so astounding that I could not consider publishing "The Coup" until 2009 when one of McVeigh's handlers (the recruiter) was arrested for involvement in another bombing in 2004. I will be attending his trial (it's been postponed several times) and hopefully his involvement in OKC will come out at the trial. Amazingly, though he's being prosecuted for a bombing in 2004, I learned from the arresting officer that he (the arresting officer) and his agency KNEW about this man's involvement in the OKC bombing! He won't tell me whether they're going to expose this at the upcoming trial.
And I just recently learned from a former official OKC investigator, who obtained copies of numerous internal DOJ memorandums, that the huge cover-up in the OKC bombing was allegedly orchestrated by the very same DOJ individual who shut down the FBI wiretapping investigation of MCA and the Mob, outlined in Chapter 22 of The Last Circle. God works in mysterious ways. The truth is bubbling to the surface, one tiny bubble at a time.
"The Coup" will be easy reading, lots of action, and not as complicated as The Last Circle.
