My local Waitrose isn't close to being that much fun. Even with just 10% of that taking place, I wouldn't get any shopping ever done.
We Brits are just so, well, so normal.
Perhaps the word is boring?
I think the concept we're looking for here is that many Americans are outrageously bizarre - it has long been the only way to deal with the reality America dishes out! Not all, but an awful lot of Americans [and especially in certain areas of the country] LOVE to be just as different as they can be from everyone else. It is true, that when I go to England, everyone is trying [like the Ninja Turtle Riot squads] to look pretty much like everyone else. You had Monty Python. We ARE Monty Python [or maybe just the American insane asylum]
Just find any of hundreds of Youtube flicks of the Venice, CA boardwalk. NB - I used to be [for several years, I'll have you know] one of the 'events' on that boardwalk...but won't tell which one I was!......:popworm:
