The air transportation industry is an important front for democratic rights because airports are a particular place where safety concerns allow an imposition of quasi-military fascist rule under the guise of public safety. The fascists love airports and the airline industry because they can get a firm fascist foot into American democracy and make the American public jump through their authoritarian hoops under the guise of protecting the public. Airports are very simply a microcosm of what American fascists wish they could do throughout the entire country. Many of the employees are of the background that they don't question authority and the pilots themselves usually originate from a military background.
Interesting were the TV programs on cable TV showing the happy, rosy airline employee situation. Those shows are far from the reality of corporate bastards breaking the backs of powerless workers where desk jockeys cruelly put more and more crushing baggage handling on fewer backs as they try to cut costs. Cable TV has become a filthy propaganda device for corporatists who need to sanitize their wrongdoing.
