Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., plans to appoint Sens. Patty Murray of Washington, Max Baucus of Montana and John Kerry of Massachusetts to a special unconstitutional committee charged with finding $1.5 trillion in budget savings, an aide familiar with the matter said Tuesday. Reid will name Murray as co-chairman of the 12-member deficit panel being appointed by Democratic and Republican leaders of Congress, the aide said.
