You may well be right. On the other hand there are lots of way for the UK to be involved without being directly militarily involved.
But very clearly we are still in the early days and I have no real idea how it is going to play out, but simply looking at the puzzle to see what pattern emerges. if any.
But I look at the armed and well organized attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team as yet another covert "pulse" in the growing PR campaign to damn Pakistan in the public eye before ratcheting up military activity.
Imagine all those cricket loving Englishmen and Pakistani's who are presently turning in their grave that cricket has been targeted. It's not cricket is it.

ISLAMABAD, March 4 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Robert Mueller arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday.
"During his visit, Mueller will discuss Mumbai attacks investigations with Pakistani officials," private Geo TV channel reported.
Mueller came to Pakistan just one day after a terrorist attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in eastern Pakistan, which killed five policemen and wounded seven Sri Lankan cricket players.
There is no immediate report whether Bueller will talk with Pakistani officials on the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team.
