I skimmed this article and appreciate the work of PDS. Yet I come away unsatisfied. I don't doubt that there is some sort of shadow government which is nicknamed the COG.
But who IS that shadow government and what is their agenda? Remaining in power is not an agenda per say... unless one considers what is done with that much power. Is it to accumulate vast amount of wealth? To what end? What can Bloomberg do with his $19BB than he couldn't do with a mere say $200MM?
Clearly when the economy is structured to move all wealth creation up the conveyor belt to the same few people, there is not chance for the 99 to get enough financial power to change their own conditions, better jobs, housing, health, education and so forth. All of those things not only cost money themselves but just getting those ideas into laws costs enormous amounts of money because those who would actually have to chip in here... have sucked up all the cash out there.
You can't fight a modern army with bows and arrows.... and you can't fight against this oligarchy with spare change. You can't reach the people, you can't assemble allies, you can't advertise or market or lobby or anything but struggle to survive. That's a large segment of the 99. But there are many who see the injustices but are not hurting as the vast majority of the 99 are.
Democracy should be apart from wealth. But they've made it such that the more wealth you possess... the more democracy and rights you get.
