Oddly, the council vote did not support the measure, due to abstentions...however, the Council and Mayor have the powers to do that anyway [call the Police to stop demonstrations and Port Closure, et al.] It was just a statement by the Council, which failed. Yes, it was quite a screaming session from the audience. Next up in Oakland is the Citizens Police Review Board.
