Well... You don't need to be an expert or have advanced degrees in engineering to know with 100% certainty that a floor designed to support a static load (live load) of 58#/SF will fail if 2000# of dynamic load is applied. It's the same certainty that I have if I throw a 3# rock at the window of my bedroom that it will shatter.
The collapse / destruction of the upper sections of the towers onto the lower intact stone cold parts supplied MORE than enough downward force to shatter the topmost and all floors below which each saw additional mass descending on it. It's that simple.
But there are observations to explain which are NOT that simple, but require more sophisticated understanding of physics and precise observations.
The laws of physics were not suspended on 9/11.. nor chemistry.... nor material science... or engineering.
Many are baffled by the *collapse* of what was called the spire. They reach for the easiest explanation.. explosives placed at the bottom caused those columns reaching to 50 stories and one to floor 78 to come down. Some think they turned to dust... but that is just a flawed observation... they collapsed down. And they did so without explosives. We know that because THOSE columns.. rows 500 and 600 especially show NO signs of explosive damage in the debris pile. The columns collapsed from *self buckling* called Euler Buckling... If that is not sufficient explanation for your level of technical understanding... as it is MOST observers... I suggest you do some research about steel column stability, unbraced length and slenderness ratio for column stability, and of course Euler Buckling. Once your DO understand this... the collapse of the *spire* is understood as a predicted *natural* course... no explosives necessary.
Here's a little help for you:
