Karzai Reveals US Plan for Permanent Afghanistan Bases

And there is all that precious lithium and other mineral goodies in Afghanistan.....
Of course, the US business interests are interested.

In our local newspaper this story was presented as though Karzai was "begging" the US to stay.
Otherwise he would lose all the thousands/millions of CIA money routinely being smuggled to him
in plastic bags and briefcases.
And, of course, we would not demand to stay, would we?

Karzai would also almost certainly loose his life without all the NATO [mostly American] troops there. He is hated [and targeted] by almost all but his own clique in Afghanistan. His earlier job was also in natural resources for huge multinationals and they still hold the strings that make him move, IMHO. His only freedom is choosing his very appealing wardrobe. They [they] act as if they 'just' discovered the mineral wealth of Afghanistan. As a mineral collector and having studied geology and mineralogy I know it has LONG been known, in detail, the enormous mineral wealth of Afghanistan - which also covers the 'Tribal Areas' of Pakistan [rivaled only by the Congo, perhaps]. Interestingly, it is mostly concentrated in the areas now under the control of the 'Taliban' and other Jihadist groups....its not in the areas under 'pacification'. Solution: puppet government, puppet President and perpetual American bases [certainly officially, if secretly, planned all along]!! As a 'side business', Afghanistan also produces more than 95% of the world's opium.....just what the Empire needed - a poor country rich with things to make them richer - to hell with what the People who live there want! If it was wrong for the Soviets to be there, how the hell can we now say it is right for 'us' to be there? Apparently, the 'rules' of the 'game' are: might makes right; and wealth makes might [for the few]. The People don't count - and can be killed, impoverished, displaced, disregarded, controlled, bombed, droned, etc. with impunity. And we consider ourselves 'civilized'?! Ha!
