It is likely that some sort of filter has been used on the film. It does look like it is the same film but there are differences in colour between the two. The mans face is slightly more bleached out in one and the woman in blue is a different shade of blue in one as well. All this would indicate a filter of some kind which might also make the red look less noticable. Jan may have better technical observations on that.
