What is the reference point for "tall" in the "tall" Maguerette pictures?

I read she's "tall" in the wedding picture - by what yardstick?

But maybe the guy is short (the car sure looks big).

I don't get the need for doppleganging in 1947.

I look at the two pictures I posted and I see the same sloping eyes, cheeks and smile.

I also have the same problem with supposed "different" pictures of young LHO, they all look like LHO to me.
