Are you saying the purpose was to make sure that he stayed all day on AF1? Check. Another option was to terrorize Bush himself.


Who knows what their intentions were, I'm sure it wasn't very difficult to terrorize him, for sure. Also, keeping him out of DC and out of the loop seemed to be part of their intentions as well.
