Thousands evacuate as Fukishima nuclear emergency is declared
It is never-ending...and likely will remain so. Under the BEST of conditions, radiation causes metals to become brittle and eventually break. So, we have the damage done so far and new damage coming even without another earthquake [which is only a matter of time - and not a long time!]. The 'frozen underground wall' sounds clever - but I don't see how it can work. Water always finds a way out...and it will eventually find its way to the sea or to the surface and release its nuclear particles into both sea and air. Given that the BEST estimates are another 35-40 years to decommission these reactors [disassemble and bury somewhere], one can expect decades of horrors coming from Fuku-leaks!

"Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience! People are obedient in the face of poverty, starvation, stupidity, war, and cruelty. Our problem is that grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem!" - Howard Zinn
"If there is no struggle there is no progress. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and never will" - Frederick Douglass
