It's a sad day, I think Tracy, if the only punishment a cop gets is to be sacked for the crime of murder or manslaughter - depending on your legal perspective.
Using an illegal chokehold tells me murder would be the right charge.
But I suspect you're right and that's the most that can be hoped for. But it sends an awful message about no one being above the law. Clearly cops and numerous others in the VIP and wealthy bracket are completely above it.
