I'm very skeptical that most Sunnis in the Iraq-Syria region want an Islamic fundamentalist state - from everything I've read over the years, most of the Sunni Arabs in that area are pretty moderate and secular. Which is why I don't get how ISIS can be growing so fast and holding territory so easily.
ISIS aren't offering an Islamic fundamentalist state though
They don't follow Sharia - even by the most stretched of imaginations.
ISIS are gaining territory in a few places, but are getting destroyed in others. One of the reasons why they haven't already been wiped out is obviously because they have unlimited money and resources behind them, in the Qatari's, Americans, and Israeli's.
