I spent a lot of time trying to find out what Owsley did while in the Air Force.I could only find one mention,and it came from that Laural Canyon piece that is seemingly half truth and half story telling.Here is what the article has to say:
During his military service, Owsley was an electronics specialist, working in radio intelligence and radar.
Owsley was obviously a genius when it came to electronics.He pioneered many breakthroughs when working as the DEADS sound engineer.I am reminded though that the article is full of faulty information.What I do still find interesting is that Owsley enlisted,but only served for 18 months.If I remember correctly,an enlistment would be for 4 years.Something must of happened for him to be discharged that early.:dontknow:
