Why is the UK more opposed to Russia than, say, Germany or the US or France are opposed to Russia?
This baffles me. The UK was on the same side as Russia in WWI and WWII. Back in the day, the UK and the Russian Empire were at odds over Afghanistan because it was the border zone between the Russian Empire and the British Empire. And, of course, you had the Crimean War pitting Russia against France and England. This was a boondoggle of a war and was basically Empire vs. Empire.
But both of these empires are long gone.
There must be a reason that the UK intel community is frothing at the mouth about Russia, but I just don't see why. Can anybody explain this in terms of geo-politics or on any other theory?
