I find that hard to believe. Since when does state of the art technology simply disappear, short of some cataclysm?
What I meant by that - and I admit poorly worded - was that what was then state of the art science and more advanced than that of the Allies is now no longer in any way state of the art science/technology. It was then, it is not now.
