And speaking of respiratory illnesses, note this July 19 2019 warning from Virginia Department of Health warning about an increase in respiratory illnesses advising that anyone having difficulty breathing should seek medical care. The department further advised that "everyone to take steps to minimise the severity and prevent spreading illness to others".
In what is now globally widespread Covid-19 advice, the department advised people to wash their hands with soap and water "especially after coughing and sneezing" and to "avoid close contact with people who are sick" and those who are sick "should stay at home".

This warning was given two days after a press report by NBC Washington of "dozens" suffering from a mystery respiratory outbreak in a retirement and assisted living community at Greenspring Retirement Community that infected 60 residents on 30 June 2019 that required Twenty to be hospitalised with two fatalities (who were suffering from other illnesses). Cause of Respiratory Illness Still Unknown After Dozens Sickened at Virginia Retirement Community
Greenspring, Virginia is 58 miles to Fort Detrick, Frederick, Maryland.
An August 2 2019 report by The Frederick News Post (note: use a VPN to bypass geoblocking) stated that the USAMRIID biowarfare lab at Fort Detrick was closed after the CDC found several breaches in biosafety breaches. This followed an inspection held in June 2019 where breaches in biosafety protocols in bio level 3 and 4 labs, the very highest (most dangerous). CDC closed the labs in July 2019.
Fort Detrick labs handle agents and pathogens under the Federal Select Agent Program that oversee the use of 67 of the most dangerous agents and pathogens known to man. these include Ebola, Botulin, Monkeypox virus and Hendra virus. No. 19 on their list of their Select Agents and Toxins List is "SARS associated coronaviruses (SARS-Cov)".
Known as the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakenhurst near Trenton, New Jersey, is, I believe, the base used by US military athletes for training that attended the International Military Games in Wuhan, China, held from 15-30 October 2019 (HERE). Fort Dix is approx. a 3 hour drive (180 miles) to Fort Detrick - a mere 48 minutes hop by aircraft.
