Paul Rigby Wrote:I urge all DPF contributors and readers in Texas to throw themselves wholeheartedly into this movement to revise history. A wealth of opportunities for complete absurdity exist. Surely it is time for the text books to reveal the truth about LHO - he shot Lincoln from a severe case of penis envy. Wrong assassin, wrong century, wrong motive? Yes, but no more absurd than the WC version.
Get to it, entryists!
Too late - the big guns have moved.
According to my preferred instrument of daily news, Paddy Power's morning gazette, Bet on the Grey, "Bum" Stears, the offshore gambling tycoon, has thrown the full weight of his beloved BS Foundation behind the project to create a new generation of Texan school text books.
Indeed, the first fruits of his Foundation's labours has a provisional title: "When Stegosaurs Roamed the White House." The book is reported to fuse Stears' four great passions: paleoconservatism; paleontology; scantily clad groups of nomadic female extras; and shooting unarmed Mexicans.
The identity of the book's authors remains obscure; but it's launch location & date have been penciled in for November 22, 2010, at the Sixth Form Museum of Historical Correction, after a private screening for the invited press corps of Stears' favourite film, One Million Years BC.
"There are three sorts of conspiracy: by the people who complain, by the people who write, by the people who take action. There is nothing to fear from the first group, the two others are more dangerous; but the police have to be part of all three,"
