TIMBRO
#1
"TIMBRO lobbys to restrict the freedom of the press in Sweden in response to Wikileaks."
-- Wikipedia --

WHAT IS TIMBRO?

The origins of TIMBRO grew from a book published Ernfrid Browaldh (1889-1982), that was the CEO of Svenska Handelsbanken. The name TIMBRO was inspired by the names of his two children Tom and Ing-Marie Browaldh. The Browaldh family donated the publishing company to the founding of the Free Enterprise Foundation. TIMBRO was ignited in 1978 by by Sture Eskilsson and the Swedish Employers' Association (Svenska Arbetsgivareföreningen) which in 2001 merged with the Swedish Industrial Association to form the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise." Therefore, it can be said that TIMBRO is presently administered and financed by the Free Enterprise Foundation that is financed by the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv).

TIMBRO is the name used by the Free Enterprise Foundation to conduct their activities. They are inter-related and intertwined into one and the same, according to the Free Enterprise Foundation website. "The Foundation conducts its activities primarily in the TIMBRO name."
What exactly are their activities? TIMBRO is often referred to as a conservative, neo-liberal or libertarian "Think Tank" in the Swedish, European and American media.

What is their "thinking"?

TIMBRO describe their activities as "conducting the development of ideas and opinions about the market economy to promote free enterprise and increased growth." Politically they are extreme right wing conservatives that push the Free Market agenda in order to increase corporate profits. They do not support public welfare, environmental regulations and basically would like to deregulate and privatize current government laws and agencies. . In Sweden, TIMBRO members and directors are primarily supporters of the Moderate Party and may be referred to as Neo-Liberals. However, in terms of American politics, this translates into extreme conservative Republican and fringe Libertarian politics.

In the United States, a similar type of conservative organization would be Karl Rove's "Crossroads" or the Heritage Foundation. TIMBRO directors are often "fellows" and work with the CATO Institute in Washington, D.C., the STOCKHOLM NETWORK in London, UK and BUSINESSEUROPE in Brussels. These uber-conservative organizations, usually include a couple of directors or board members that are in the media TV, Radio and Journalists that are able to spread their pro corporate, free trade and free market agenda to the public. They have created PR companies, such as PRIME PR in Stockholm, also publish and distribute books, literature and host speaker forums. In short, they are a propaganda mouth piece for corporate elitist's political views on capitalism, also known as lobbyists, consultants and PR spinners for conservative politics.

HOW IS SWEDEN'S TIMBRO & FREE ENTERPRISE FOUNDATION FUNDED?
The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) (CONFEDERATION)
Therefore, it is safe to say that the CONFEDERATION is currently paying TIMBRO lobbyists to attack Wikileaks and Julian Assange.
