While I don't contest any of the reasons he puts forward as to why the collapse hasn't happened in its full-fashion yet, I believe there is one other factor - all those who control the 'strings' keeping things artificially afloat until the U.S. elections. After the elections, I'd expect the US to unwind economically as no other nation has since the end of Rome. :kraka:
