David Guyatt Wrote:Peter, firstly I hope you don't mind me copying the below image of Angela Merkel from your Wikispooks site? Let me know if you do and I'll remove it and link it instead. But it is instructive to our members and readers, I think.
No problem David
David Guyatt Wrote:In his article "Dealing with the Devil", Michael Colhaze suggests that Merkel is subservient to - and does the bidding of - the Neocons because she once was a Stasi snitch who betrayed dissidents to the Stasi, and were this to be made public she would be instantly ruined. And she would be, I am sure.
I'm sure this is a very sensitive subject. Even so, I wonder if there is any substance to these rumours?
On the other hand perhaps it is best not to know?
PS, were it true it would explain why Merkel went along with the US Neocons on Russian sanctions when it was sheer economic madness for Germany and Europe to do so - a fact that has caused me some reflective pondering these past few months...
Michael Colhaze is an interesting guy and very knowledgeable about Germany and the fawning subservience of its post-WWI establishment to its occupiers. Don't let his romantic nationalism put you off; he has some unique insights to offer.
On the Merkel thing specifically, I really don't know. But I do know that she topped the greasy pole in the unified, NATO-member, German state, having spent the formative (Cold-war) years of her life in East Germany; and yet it's a conjunction that receives scant - even dismissive - attention from the mainstream media as though it were totally unremarkable when it clearly isn't.
