I regard 'Conjuring Hitler' as a seminal work on the origins of WWII and the Anglo-American Imperial Project. Read it and all those strange hard to place bits simply fall into place and the picture it paint bears no relationship to the official one.
It should be required reading for O-A level students as an antidote to the de-rigeur Churchill hero worship of the Establishment. In truth the man was no better than Adolph himself; it's just that 'History is being kind to him, because he - with malice aforethought - he wrote it.
As Lord Acton said in the continuation of his oft quoted '..All power tends to corrupt' observation - 'Great men are almost always bad men' Winston Churchill was most certainly no exception.
