I just wonder if we are seeing this happening today in Syria?
All day yesterday and today there has been a relentless building up expectation in the coverage of Syria and the chemical weapons and an imminent attack. All the media was on stand by for some thing to happen and then it does. Surprise. Just like Kabuki theatre.
Allegedly a bomb went off in Damascus and the Minister of Defence was killed along with others including Assad's brother in law. However, earlier this year the insurgency claimed to have killed the defense minister Dawoud Rajiha by food poisoning.
However my sources in Syria are saying the Interior Minister is okay not killed but slightly injured.
Initially it was said to be a suicide bomb but later that changed to a bomb having been planted there.
Initially the Deputy head of FSA tells me (Mohamed Fadel Fahmy) Damascus bombing was joint operation by Al Sahaba Brigade, Liwa Al Shuhada, Liwa Al Sham Al Ahra, FSA umbrella.
Then, The Free Syrian Army in Turkey is claiming responsibility:
Riad al-Asaad said in a phone interview from his headquarters in Turkey that rebel forces planted a bomb inside a room where senior government officials were meeting Wednesday.
And while the media is abuzz with news about it the BBC correspondent on the ground there
(Local time) 1518:
says residents on the street near the National Security Building said they had not heard an explosion or seen any emergency vehicles at the scene.
1512:
More from the BBC's Lina Sinjab in Damascus, who has been to the scene of the reported bombing. She says she saw no broken windows in the area, and the roads were open. She says there was "no sign of any explosion".
Curiouser and curiouser said Alice.
Meanwhile the Taliban, in confusion, email Free Syrian Army: "When we send suicide bombers to kill officials we are condemned. What's your secret?"
Some one tells me the bomb that caused the explosion .. Was a hand grenade .. And was carried by an escort of the deceased Assef Shawkat who blew it inside the meeting room. But the FSA have told that it was a Bomb ... 95 Kg TNT explosives, can't a hand grenade?, a hand grenade? don't have much energy and explosion.
Got to sleep now but will see how things are in the morning.
Quote:In a few days, perhaps as early as Friday, June 15, at noon, the Syrians wanting to watch their national TV stations will see them replaced on their screens by TV programs created by the CIA. Studio-shot images will show massacres that are blamed on the Syrian Government, people demonstrating, ministers and generals resigning from their posts, President Al-Assad fleeing, the rebels gathering in the big city centers, and a new government installing itself in the presidential palace.http://www.voltairenet.org/NATO-preparin...nformation
This operation of disinformation, directly managed from Washington by Ben Rhodes, the US deputy national security adviser for strategic communication, aims at demoralizing the Syrians in order to pave the way for a coup d'etat. NATO, discontent about the double veto of Russia and China, will thus succeed in conquering Syria without attacking the country illegally. Whichever judgment you might have formed on the actual events in Syria, a coup d'etat will end all hopes of democratization.
