The hacker that has targeted Hillary Clinton and the Presidents Bush has leaked a new trove of classified emails to RT that discuss in detail the Algerian hostage crisis and the relationship between the United States and Egyptian governments.
An elusive hacker using the moniker Guccifer was credited earlier this week with infiltrating the email account of journalist Sidney Blumenthal and uncovering a collection of highly sensitive memos allegedly sent to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Now for the second time in only a week, the person known only by a three-syllable screen name has provided yet another compilation of correspondence that highlights America's foreign diplomacy in ways that are rarely made public this side of WikiLeaks.
The first collection of correspondence, published by RT earlier this week, is believed to contain classified emails regarding last year's terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya and shined a significant light on an event that, although culminating in the death of four Americans, remains relatively obscured from major discourse six months later. In the emails obtained by RT on Friday, though, Guccifer relays memos alleged to have been sent from Blumenthal to Sec. Clinton that dive into matters regarding the January 2013 Algerian hostage crisis that left three Americans dead, as well as info about the inner workings of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi's office.
Former White House aide Sidney Blumenthal.(Reuters)

Blumenthal, 64, has neither confirmed nor denied the authenticity of the emails, and his son, journalist Max Blumenthal, told RT that his father would not comment on the leak. AOL, however, has admitted that the former White House aide's account was indeed compromised. As with the correspondence detailing the Benghazi attack, though, the latest intelligence leaked to RT could prove to be quite substantial if and when their authenticity can be verified. And given Blumenthal's relationship with Washington's elite he served as an aid during the administration of the secretary's husband, former-US President Bill Clinton the likelihood that the emails prove to be legitimate is not all that unlikely.
The four emails received by RT on Friday are all believed to be sent from Blumenthal to Clinton from his since-compromised AOL account and include correspondence dated December 8, 2012, January 18, 2013 and March 3, 2013. A fourth email, undated, discusses the June 2012 election of Egypt's Pres. Morsi and is annotated as originating "from an extremely sensitive source" and should be "handled with care."
Cooperation in Egypt

In the undated email, senior intelligence sources explain how the newly elected Egyptian leader plans to interact with the White House during his administration and details other strategies considered during the first days of Pres. Morsi's term. Although the Egyptian election went to Morsi, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, the emails suggest that his office intended to work with the state's military, the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), which governed the country from former-President Hosni Mubarak's departure in Feb 2011 up until Morsi was elected that June. In particular, Morsi's officials agreed that cooperation with SCAF leaders, Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, would be imperative during the early days of the then-infant presidency.
"The SCAF officers reiterated their previous position that Tantawi and the SCAF do not want to rule the country, but they will not tolerate any move that limits either their budget or their position of respect in society," the email reads in part. Later on, the source claims that both the Muslim Brotherhood and SCAF leadership agree "that their first order of business together in the new Egyptian political situation will be developing a coherent police towards Israel," which would be done by"maintaining the Peace Treaty with Israel while limiting joint activity and cooperation on sensitive security matters." To do as much, the source says Egypt desired more solid ties with the US and other allied nations. Elsewhere, though, the source says that a relationship with the West could mean connecting Egypt's economy more seriously with those in the West.
Both Morsi and Muslim Brotherhood colleague Mohammed Badie "are firmly committed to a dual Islamic/Western banking system and good relations with Western firms," another section of the email reads. "[Pres. Morsi] regularly states that the West has dealt with Saudi Arabia for many years, and the system he anticipates for Egypt will be far less restrictive than the one put in place by the Saudi rules. Badie also believes the fact that Morsi was educated in the United States and has many good contacts in that country."
The fall of Morsi and help from America

In the second memo, dated Dec. 8, 2012, secret intelligent sources say that Morsi was already confident with his party's impact on Egypt's government, even if public opinion was still split. "Morsi added that although the ongoing demonstrations against his declaration of emergency powers will continue, and, if anything, become more violent, he firmly believes that at least 60 percent of Egyptian voters continue to support his efforts to eliminate the last vestiges of the regime of former president Hosni Mubarak," it reads.
"According to a sensitive source, Badie and the leadership of the [Muslim Brotherhood] believe they are on the verge of reaching the goal of their 85 year campaign to gain control of the Egyptian government," the memo goes on to state. In a separate email dated March 13 of this year, though, Pres. Morsi's time in office is reflected as one that continues to be marred with not just disapproval but demands for American aid.
As early as three weeks ago, Badie told sources that "while ongoing unrest in the country is worrisome," a Morsi presidency would be likely for another year. In order to counter the stagnant level of unrest, the source said Morsi was working to develop policies that would allow for a $4.8 billion loan package from the International Monetary Fund, which Badie predicted will lead to the US lending another $1 billion.
"[Badie] added that [Morsi] interpreted [US Secretary of State John Kerry's] statements following his recent visit to Cairo as indications that the US government recognizes that the Morsi regime is working in good faith to reach an agreement with the IMF, and that this course offers the best chance for stability in Egypt. According to this source, Morsi recognizes that the US expects him to take steps to strengthen the economy and build political unity. He was particularly pleased to learn that the US will released $190 million of the initial $450 million portion of the US pledge. Badie added that Morsi felt that he and his team had convinced the US delegation that these funds were needed to allow planned reforms to go forward, and that the various opposition leaders do not offer credible alternative solutions."
[Image: 1.jpg]Algeria's arrangement with terrorists

But perhaps the most significant of the leaked memos is one from January 18 of this year, roughly two days after al-Qaeda linked terrorists operating under the since-slain Mokhtar Belmokhtar took over 800 people hostage at a gas facility near In Amenas, Algeria. By the time the stand-off ended on January 19, 39 foreign hostages were killed, including three Americans. But according to "a very sensitive source," an informal relationship between the Algerian government and known militants was expected to have thwarted such a situation.
The source, speaking privately, claims that Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika "was surprised and disoriented with the attacks" because his government "reached a highly secret understanding with Belmokhtar" a year earlier. "Under the agreement Belmokhtar concentrated his operations in Mali, and occasionally, with the encourage of the Algerian Direction Générale de la Sécurité Extérieure, attack Moroccan interests in Western Sahara, where the Algerians have territorial claims. The Algerian security officials fear that January 17 attacks might mark a resumption of the 20 year civil war and resolved to deal with the situation with extreme force."

"According to these sources, the fate of the hostages is a secondary consideration in this decision."
From an unknown sender

As with memos obtained by Guccifer and provided to the media earlier, the hacker apparently attempts to cover his tracks by cloning the original documents and saving the text in an alternate format. Once again with these emails, Guccifer appears to have copied the text of the original memos, and then placed them in a text file after changing the font to Comic Sans where the final image was saved as a picture file.
Since that breach, Guccifer has published at least eight incredibly sensitive emails, including the trove from earlier this week that linked the Algerian hostage crisis to the death of US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi last September. In those emails, intelligence sources said that al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb funded Mokhtar Belmokhtar, and that with that money Islamic militants likely afforded both the Benghazi and Algerian incidents.
But perhaps as an attempt to back-up his alleged hack, Guccifer has also this time included a series of other documents namely screenshots from within Blumenthal's inbox and an image of US Gen. Colin Powell and other men posing for a photograph.
The screenshots supplied to RT, included correspondence involving Blumenthal, Sec. Clinton, a former CIA agent and an attorney and journalist. Attempts to have those sources verify the emails have gone unanswered as well.

Guccifer has previously been credited with hacking Gen. Powell's Facebook and the email account of former President George W. Bush's sister, in turn leaking a number of oil paintings purported to have been done by the president. The Secret Service has since claimed to be investigating the breach.

Guccifer emails link Tony Blair to top-secret Bohemian Grove gathering

Published time: March 25, 2013 17:28
Edited time: March 26, 2013 05:11

Attending the elusive Bohemian Grove retreat should be a priority for former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, News Corp executive Andrew Knight allegedly writes in an email to US Gen. Colin Powell obtained by RT.
The mysterious computer hacker known only as Guccifer has once again supplied RT with a trove of presumed personal emails in which the private correspondence between some of the world's most influential men is put under the looking glass. The hacker's target is once again former Secretary of State Colin Powell, and this time the discourse dives into a topic rarely discussed: the annual summer retreat at California's Bohemian Grove.
Guccifer has previously taken credit for hacking Gen. Powell's Facebook, compromising what are believed to be sensitive emails sent to former-President George W. Bush and even uncovering emails about last year's Benghazi, Libya terrorist attack allegedly sent to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In the latest leaked emails sent to RT, Guccifer showcases a number of emails reportedly sent to Colin Powell's AOL account during the last few years.
The few dozen emails forwarded to RT offer what appears on the surface to be little insight into Gen. Powell's personal habits, but one email in particular referenced enough other well-known individuals that it couldn't help but raise a red flag: in correspondence dated March 21, 2012, Knight asks Gen. Powell to have a few words with Mr. Blair about preparing for that year's Bohemian Grove retreat, an annual gathering of the rich and powerful that has stayed so elusive for decades that countless documentaries and books have been written about the event and journalists like Vanity Fair's Alex Shoumatoff has even been arrested trying to infiltrate it.
According to the Sonoma County Free Press, the membership list of Bohemian Grove has included every Republican US president since 1923, as well as titans of the defense sector, banking tycoons and the CEOs of some of the largest corporations in the world. Spy Magazine linked the guest list with millionaires and billionaires from the likes of IBM and Bank of America, as well as leading politicians from Washington and abroad. And when Spy's Philip Weiss snuck into the grove in 1989, he confirmed that attendees congregate at a shrine to an owl described as "40-foot-tall, moss-covered statue of stone and steel."
Weiss adds that during the event's middle weekend the busiest session of the two-week gathering he saw roughly 2,200 guests, all male, on the camp ground. Just last year, though, Powell was asked to ensure that Blair made it for that portion of the festivities.
"Might you be able gently/firmly to point out to Tony that you rank the Bohemia Middle Weekend in your diary before allowing any other duties to get in the way?!" writes Knight, a journalist who currently serves as a director of billionaire Rupert Murdoch's multinational News Corp, in the latest leaked emails. "Lack of exposure suggests that Tony has not yet got his priorities straight."
Also included in the email is a PDF attachment unavailable to RT's reporters said to include a response of sorts from Mr. Blair to George Shultz, a longtime member of Washington's elite that worked as secretary of state underneath US Pres. Ronald Reagan in the late 1980s while Gen. Powell held the position of national security advisor. In his own right, Shultz has been associated with the secretive Bohemian Grove group for decades.
In the leaked emails, Knight says to Powell, "I'm going to suggest the same to Henry," likely implying that the journalist was determined to make sure Mr. Kissinger who served as secretary of state under Pres. Nixon and Ford, and before that was national security advisor himself was preparing to attend last year's event.

Several sources online tie Powell, Shultz, Knight and Kissinger to Bohemian Grove, but Blair has only been long rumored to be an attendee at the annual soiree. In 2006, Blair did visit San Francisco, California less than 100 miles away from the Grove's gated campsitewhere he dined with Shultz."There was speculation that Mr. Blair might even have been a guest at the male-only event, following in the footsteps of John Major and Prince Philip," the UK's Daily Mail reported at the time. "As it is, the Shultz party was said to have been littered with guests who had left the Grove in order to meet Mr. Blair."
The San Francisco Chronicle also reported that summer that Prime Minister Blair was rumored to be attending the festivities, which have long become a topic of debate and discussion of conspiracy theorists, largely due to the sheer elusiveness of an event that attracts high-profile men of power with a strict embargo on admitting the media.
"Less than a mile from us there are millionaires, billionaires, people who control the world, control the central banks, build nuclear weapons. This is their summer playground," Sonoma State University sociology professor Peter Phillips told RT in 2011. "We know for sure that Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan sat down and had conversation about who was going to run for president when and they made a deal." The Washington Post has even reported that a planning meeting for the Manhattan Project occurred at the grove in 1942, leading eventually to the creation of the atom bomb.
Since the list of attendees is kept under lock and key, only a confirmation from Powell or Blair themselves could verify whether or not the four star general did in fact convince the prime minister to attend last year's event.
In his email to RT, Guccifer signed with the signature, "illuminati free world."

Magda - thanks for posting.

My initial reaction is that the Blumenthal material has a ring of truth, but I'm dubious about the Bohemian Grove material.

Why would these hugely rich, security-conscious, former and current political leaders be using aol to communicate?

The Andrew Knight email, with its casual reference to "Henry" (presumably) Kissinger, smells to me. And I'd need a handwriting expert to confirm that the alleged scrawl on the letter was indeed penned by Blair.

I'll await further alleged leaks with interest.

You'd be surprised. Other leaks of other emails noy just by Guccifer also show slack practices.

Yes, me too. Who ever Guccifer is he knows his way around the dark nets.

A ruthless hatchet man from the administration which spawned, ". . .have to roll over one more time to protect the First Lady. . ." allows unsecure emails to be hacked and leaked to Russia Today.

Hillary to succeed Obama in geostrategic moves which obstruct Russian interests. Compromised while in between SecState and campaign mode.

A preemptive strike.

And a mocking of Hillary's thesis subject (and Obama's mentor) Alinsky who dedicated Reveille to Lucifer.

And as for Hillary relying on Blumenthal to give her the Egyptian Morsi Muslim Brotherhood intel.

The move fails. The play is for Hillary and Blumenthal who decline.

Petraeus Mistress Reveals Real Motive for Benghazi Attack
(Video not available. Although this article has nothing to do with hacking of the emails, it is related to the attacks on Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State - AE)

The fallout from former CIA head David Petraeus' resignation might be more significant than first thought: as all eyes turn to the ex-intelligence chief's mistress, it's apparent that she may have been privy to what really happened in Benghazi.

Two months after the storming of an US consulate in Benghazi, questions remain largely unanswered about both how and why insurgents entered the facility on September 11 and executed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. The discussion became a heated issue on the campaign trail leading up to Election Day, and conflicting accounts from the White House, State Department and Congress all led to a mess of confusion that has only further spun out of control following the unexpected stepping down of Petraeus on Friday.

In the immediate aftermath of the CIA chief's resignation, skeptics quickly suggested that there was more to the story, especially given Petraeus' role as head of the country's intelligence agency and the relatively unscathing extramarital affair that he rightfully admitted to in citing his departure from office. As journalists and investigators tried to dig deep for info on the alleged mistress, Petraeus biographer Paula Broadwell, as expected the story took a drastic turn by Sunday when it was revealed that she may have been briefed on the truth of the Benghazi scandal while the rest of the country claws for answers.

A speech given by Broadwell only last month at her Alma matter suggests that she was given information about the terrorist attack that never made it to the American public.

"Now I don't know if a lot of you heard this, but the CIA annex had actually had taken a couple of Libya militia members prisoner," Broadwell told a crowd at the University of Denver alumni symposium on October 26. "And they think that the attack on the consulate was an effort to try to get these prisoners back. So that's still being vetted." (Bold emphasis mine - AE)

Broadwell's address was publically available on YouTube until this weekend; it has since been removed, although mirrors have surfaced.

Until then, and even today, the CIA denies Broadwell's claims that the CIA was holding anyone prisoner at what has long been described as a consulate building in Benghazi. Should her account prove true, however, it could mean that the agency had a secret black site prison in Libya, a fact long denied by Washington. If true, it could also mean that not only was the security of United States' top intelligence office breached, but also may for once provide an impetus for the Sept. 11 attack.

The FBI has officially confirmed searching Broadwell's home in Charlotte, North Carolina. The agency did not say why it performed the search, but it's clear that Broadwell's potential access to any sensitive material is being taken seriously.

In the initial aftermath of the assault, the Obama administration considered an anti-Islamic filmed produced in America, Innocence of Muslims,' as the catalyst for the Benghazi attack and similar strikes in the region. After days of pressing, however, the White House eventually admitted that the assassination of Ambassador Stevens was being blamed by Washington on terrorists, 11 years to the day after al-Qaeda operatives brought down the Twin Towers.

According to last month's address in Denver, Broadwell also said a group of Delta Force operators, "the most talented guys we have in the military," could have been dispatched to provide reinforcement for the Americans in Benghazi but were not. Instead, the US packed up and left immediately, not securing the scene until days later, by which point much of the facility, and presumably all evidence, had been looted or destroyed.

On late Sunday, Greg Miller of The Washington Post wrote on Twitter that the "CIA adamant that Broadwell claims about agency holding prisoners at Benghazi are not true." On Sunday, a spokesperson for the CIA told The Daily Beast that the agency "has not had detention authority since January 2009, when Executive Order 13491 was issued. Any suggestion that the Agency is still in the detention business is uninformed and baseless."

Broadwell has yet to make any statements to the press since she made international headlines on Friday following Petraeus' resignation. On his part, the former CIA chief has yet to publically discuss the Benghazi massacre, and will no longer testify before Congress as originally scheduled to do as such this Thursday. Instead, acting CIA Director Michael Morell is expected to field questions to lawmakers in Washington.

Adele
p.s. I have a vague memory of reading something about the CIA at Benghazi holding some prisoners in very early reports of the Benghazi attacks as they occurred. Broadwell could be correct. - AE

In the first of the foregoing document links, does anyone know the meaning of the image of Corlandt Street station in Lower Manhattan with the statement above it "Nation Security Preparedness Group"? Is there perhaps anything linked to it's closure for repairs etc?

Re earlier posts...

Guccifer, a name that is cross between Gucci and Lucifer. I sort of like the wittiness of it.

Quote: As early as three weeks ago, Badie told sources that "while ongoing unrest in the country is worrisome," a Morsi presidency would be likely for another year. In order to counter the stagnant level of unrest, the source said Morsi was working to develop policies that would allow for a $4.8 billion loan package from the International Monetary Fund, which Badie predicted will lead to the US lending another $1 billion.

This sounds very much like a not so subtle plea for a US bribe to me? Business as usual in Egypt, I guess.

I am not surprised that Blair was invited to the Bohemian Grove get together. But I am still trying to grasp the deeper meaning in the latter part of Knight's message, supposing it is true - and I'm inclined to believe it is?

Quote: "Might you be able gently/firmly to point out to Tony that you rank the Bohemia Middle Weekend in your diary before allowing any other duties to get in the way?!" writes Knight, a journalist who currently serves as a director of billionaire Rupert Murdoch's multinational News Corp, in the latest leaked emails. What priorities are being alluded to here I wonder?
