I wanted to start a thread on what happened to all the looted assets that Borman and others stole from Europe I understand the amount is around $130 billion in US dollars in 1940 values. That's quite a bit of loose change and doesn't even include what was stolen from Greece or the Soviet Union (the first time around in WW2) What are the companies that were established and the people who ran them and where are they today and who rund them today?
There a link to download of Martin Bormann - Nazi in Exile here by Paul Manning and there is much good information in that.

Great and interesting topic - but a rather HUGE one. It was not just Bormann. He was involved with Skorzeny and many, many others via ODESSA and the Vatican, as well as by aspects of the OSS/CIA/others in moving assets out to various places - best known is S. America - but that is far from the ONLY place. Some, but not all, was in joint accounts of Bormann and Peron. Much of it secretly remained in Germany or in Europe - or found its way secretly to the USA. It was not just money and gold - stolen or extorted [even pried out of human flesh]; but also art treasures, securities, and 'intellectual property', secret weapons and 'techniques' and persons knowledgeable about them. This happened from the former Greater Reich who had hidden their 'assets' in many places - some of it moved by plane, U-boat, and ships before the war ended. Some hidden underground or in Swiss and other accounts.
I believe Patton was murdered for what he had seen with his eyes and would have known and was about to speak that it was not being properly handled [see book Target Patton by Wilcox] - but leaked back to Nazi and 'Allied' Nazi pals [like Dulles and his friends] 'hands'. The USSR got a minor, but not insignificant share.
The greatest disappearance of assets was likely from Japan - and our very own David Guyatt is an expert on that. Lansdale figures in heavily here, and some of that money/gold/wealth has been moving around from intel bank to intel bank [or secret accounts or secret 'stashes']. This Eastern chapter also explains the lasting power of Marcos - who kept the secrets of the stashes in the Philippines for the US Secret Government, IMO, for a modest 'carrying charge'. Imelda's shoe collection barely spent a trillionth of it.
Much of that was/is used by 'Western' intelligence and financial interests for their own purposes. Back in the Reich, much of the Gold simply 'evaporated' from where it was (see book Nazi Gold by Sayer and Botting), near Oberammergau[where many of the the high-value Nazis were warehoused, interrogated, some 'Paperclipped' - and many soon-to-be high level spooks were cutting their eye teeth - Sgt. Kissinger being but one*]. The huge sums of currencies from many lands, art, and other valuables that Patton saw in a salt mine never were fully inventoried, nor did they make it to where it should have gone - again 'evaporating'...but not gone - only becoming unseen. We see but the tip of the iceberg of stolen assets, never repatriated to the victims or nations it was stolen from. To the real victors goes the spoils, it is said.
It is a huge topic and I know some more...but don't have time this morning to connect too many more dots...perhaps another time.
[* A unusually high number of persons, Clay Shaw being only one of MANY, associated in some way with the JFK Assassination were passing through or working at Oberammergau or its satellite camps and post-war 'programs'.]

Yes, no doubt the Nazis had an original inventory [they were very 'anal' about things like that.], but as Patton approached from the West and the USSR from the East things were very quickly moved to this giant salt mine and a few other locations, under bombing, by truck and sometimes train [when the tracks were still intact] - I'm sure some went missing along the way by higher-ups accidentally on purpose, and attributed to hostile action. Anyway, there is a famous photo of Patton and his men in the salt mine looking at acres of bags/boxes/barrels/crates of gold, diamonds, art, money of many countries, securities and more......He [Patton] got permission from Eisenhower to do a complete inventory and most of it was to be transferred into Allied custody. Much of it never got inventoried by the Allies and it mysteriously went its merry ways. I believe this and one other thing, related to Czechoslovakia, necessitated the most honored General in the War's death by car accident some weeks later. It is a bit more complex...but just had to add this much.

Much of his work on this is still up on the internet, I believe.
The work by the Seagraves is also worth mention in this regard.

One of the more fascinating aspects, I think anyway, was the special relationship between former General Walter Bedell Smith (Eisenhower's chief of staff for the D Day landings) and former Nazi SS and I G Farben spy, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands.
I find this relationship interesting mostly because it reflects just how cosy "deep" money war and politics works. In the case of Bedell Smith and Prince Bernhard, it was their close post WWII business association via the company Bernhard Ltd, which apparently dealt in stolen art, particularly plundered Dutch artworks, that were shipped between war torn Europe and the USA.
For me, the audacious, but famously failed, Operation Market Garden, which saw allied Airborne attempt to capture several bridges in the Netherlands - culminating in the taking and holding of the bridge at Arnhem - across which British armour would flow directly into nazi Germany, thus bringing the war to a close by Christmas 1944, is of considerable interest because it has been my working hypothesis that betrayal was involved. And the likely candidates included Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, who was distrusted by the British because of his nazi background, and Walter Bedell Smith, who would've had access to the Market Garden plans.
I have set out my arguments for the foregoing hypothesis in an essay titled " Princes of Plunder - the Shape of Treachery and the Bridge at Arnhem" ---- where the word "Shape" could easily be capitlized and used in the Gladio sense -- " Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe where the logo of that entity today still features two upright short thrusting swords beloved of Roman legionnaires, namely the Gladius (i.e. "Gladio).
And, of course, Bedell Smith was appointed the 4th DCI of the CIA in 1950 and held that post until 1953 and was instrumental in helping to found the Bilderberg Group, the first chairman of whom was none other than Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. The first meeting of Bilderberg is officially recorded as being held in May 1954 (almost the 10th anniversary of Operation Market Garden), at the Hotel de Bilderberg located at Oosterbeck, Holland - no more than 5 kilometres distant from, well, that pesky bridge at Arnhem.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge. Carl Jung - Aion (1951).
