Here is a great article about why DPF has a very limited life span:

The freewheeling internet was fun while it lasted. Sometimes, in my more paranoid moments (lots of those lately :
I think the only reason the internet was turned loose on the public was to get us all addicted to it, make the economy dependent on it, and then use it as a massive control system. The world economy would mostly shut down, and most people would be helpless, without it.

Use one fear, paedophilia, to bring in a raft of other more suppressive measures. The classic thin edge of the wedge routine.
It is a real concern. I have already told my IP that I want to opt out. But millions of others won't, of course. My hope is that younger people will also opt out too, as they're generally more savvy about these things.
Overall, it's a measure of how much governments fear free speech.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort.
