Reflections in the trunk of the limousine

Indeed Albert... I did - yet it should not change what building were in the background...

Dumb mistake on my part... thanks for catching it...

David, even in your examples/illustrations, I'm not seeing the movement/shifting of the reflection that is evident in the reflection of Hill's coat occur again until z335ish. No consistency.

Think I figured it out Michael... The building simply stays in the field of view for that entire time - given how repetitive the front of that building is, it would appear not to move yet at 335 as you say we see the sky next to it...

When you extrapolate back to Zap's spot you can see how short a distance it is along Elm...

At 314 thru 319 you can see the woman walking on the grass move across the trunk...

This is NOT to say the limo didn't stop and the reflection is similar...

Another question then is - Where is Altgens, who claimed to be 15 feet from JFK for the final shot - on the trunk?

Does it not seem that the alterations happen between the yellow curb marks?

Altgens is forward of the limousine at z313, he wouldn't come into a straight line reflection from Zapruder's POV until z348 or so. (I refer you to Don Robardeau's map "dppluschartsupdated1111".) He was 15 feet from the limo at one point to be sure, but maybe not just then.

Oh. I see. You're not saying where is Altgens, you're asking where is his reflection, that you would suppose would be there in that later frame. Interesting.

After some close study, I can say that the angle of reflection has changed, in that Zapruder's POV is at a higher angle of incidence, and therefore the objects reflected in the limo would have to be higher, than earlier in the film, to be visible. I'll do some work with Robardeau's map for elevation data and get back to you.

I'm beginning to think it's a dead end. After all, the limo does move to the right, and the perspective of it changes from frame to frame (check out the two little side windows, how they move opposite to one another). So even if the reflection on the trunk seems to stay the same for a few frames (I can't tell from the Costella frames) that doesn't prove a standstill of the limousine. But it's possible that frames were removed of course.

Christ I wish I was close to Dealy. Some of this can be easily tested.
