PARIS (AP) Security officials have told The Associated Press that the Islamic State group has trained at least 400 attackers and sent them into Europe for terror attacks.
The network of interlocking, agile and semiautonomous cells shows the reach of the extremist group in Europe even as it loses ground in Syria. The officials, including European and Iraqi intelligence officials and a French lawmaker who follows the jihadi networks, describe camps designed specifically to train for attacks against the West.
The officials say the fighters have been given orders to find the right time, place and method to carry out their mission.

The TATP explosives allegedly used is a red flag to those of us familiar with these events. TATP was allegedly used by Richard Reid (the "shoe bomber" moron), the London 7/7 bombers and the Paris bombers.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/08/17/...rror_labs/
Making a quantity of TATP sufficient to bring down an airplane is not quite as simple as ducking into the toilet and mixing two harmless liquids together.
First, you've got to get adequately concentrated hydrogen peroxide. This is hard to come by, so a large quantity of the three per cent solution sold in pharmacies might have to be concentrated by boiling off the water. Only this is risky, and can lead to mission failure by means of burning down your makeshift lab before a single infidel has been harmed.
But let's assume that you can obtain it in the required concentration, or cook it from a dilute solution without ruining your operation. Fine. The remaining ingredients, acetone and sulfuric acid, are far easier to obtain, and we can assume that you've got them on hand.
Now for the fun part. Take your hydrogen peroxide, acetone, and sulfuric acid, measure them very carefully, and put them into drinks bottles for convenient smuggling onto a plane. It's all right to mix the peroxide and acetone in one container, so long as it remains cool. Don't forget to bring several frozen gel-packs (preferably in a Styrofoam chiller deceptively marked "perishable foods"), a thermometer, a large beaker, a stirring rod, and a medicine dropper. You're going to need them.
It's best to fly first class and order Champagne. The bucket full of ice water, which the airline ought to supply, might possibly be adequate - especially if you have those cold gel-packs handy to supplement the ice, and the Styrofoam chiller handy for insulation - to get you through the cookery without starting a fire in the lavvie.
Easy does it
Once the plane is over the ocean, very discreetly bring all of your gear into the toilet. You might need to make several trips to avoid drawing attention. Once your kit is in place, put a beaker containing the peroxide / acetone mixture into the ice water bath (Champagne bucket), and start adding the acid, drop by drop, while stirring constantly. Watch the reaction temperature carefully. The mixture will heat, and if it gets too hot, you'll end up with a weak explosive. In fact, if it gets really hot, you'll get a premature explosion possibly sufficient to kill you, but probably no one else.
After a few hours - assuming, by some miracle, that the fumes haven't overcome you or alerted passengers or the flight crew to your activities - you'll have a quantity of TATP with which to carry out your mission. Now all you need to do is dry it for an hour or two.
The genius of this scheme is that TATP is relatively easy to detonate. But you must make enough of it to crash the plane, and you must make it with care to assure potency. One needs quality stuff to commit "mass murder on an unimaginable scale," as Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Stephenson put it. While it's true that a slapdash concoction will explode, it's unlikely to do more than blow out a few windows. At best, an infidel or two might be killed by the blast, and one or two others by flying debris as the cabin suddenly depressurizes, but that's about all you're likely to manage under the most favorable conditions possible.
We believe this because a peer-reviewed 2004 study in the Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS) entitled "Decomposition of Triacetone Triperoxide is an Entropic Explosion" tells us that the explosive force of TATP comes from the sudden decomposition of a solid into gasses. There's no rapid oxidizing of fuel, as there is with many other explosives: rather, the substance changes state suddenly through an entropic process, and quickly releases a respectable amount of energy when it does. (Thus the lack of ingredients typically associated with explosives makes TATP, a white crystalline powder resembling sugar, difficult to detect with conventional bomb sniffing gear.)
It's been claimed that the 7/7 bombers used it, but this has not been positively confirmed. Some sources claim that they used C-4, and others that they used RDX. Nevertheless, the belief that they used TATP has stuck with the media, although going about in a crowded city at rush hour with an unstable homebrew explosive in a backpack is not the brightest of all possible moves. It's surprising that none of the attackers enjoyed an unscheduled launch into Paradise.
So, assuming that the homebrew variety of TATP is highly sensitive and unstable - or at least that our inept jihadists would believe that - to avoid getting blown up in the taxi on the way to the airport, one might, if one were educated in terror tactics primarily by hollywood movies, prefer simply to dump the precursors into an airplane toilet bowl and let the mother of Satan work her magic. Indeed, the mixture will heat rapidly as TATP begins to form, and it will soon explode. But this won't happen with much force, because little TATP will have formed by the time the explosion occurs.
Secrets, Spies and 7/7 by Tom Secker and Terror on the Tube by Nick Kollerstrom go into more detail about the problems with TATP.
"The first reason is that the story has changed so much over time, from military explosives to homemade explosives and then from one recipe to another. There are many contradictory statements on whether HMTD, TATP or some other peroxide-based explosive made up the main charge. The idea of piperine, black pepper and/or Masala spice being part of the recipe was not mentioned until years after the bombings, even though they should have had the evidence within days (or at most weeks).
There are significant differences between the testimonies on what explosives were found and where, depending on which proceedings you look at. Some of this testimony was given during the inquest into the death of Jean Charles de Menezes. A former army man who works as an explosives officer for the MPS was known as Codename NEIL' at the Menezes inquest. He said that the main charge of the explosive was a form of organic peroxide, but said that in his army experience he had never used peroxide based explosives. NEIL said that, If you were to put your hand on a small amount of organic peroxide explosive it can cause it to detonate. So it's just far too unsafe for us to manufacture.' Far too unsafe for an army explosives expert, but safe enough for an amateur home-based bomb-maker?"

"American injured in Brussels bombings also survived Boston and Paris attacks
Mar 23rd 2016 2:30PM
Nineteen-year-old Mason Wells from Utah was just a few feet away from a bombing at the Belgian Zaventem airport on Tuesday. Wells suffered burns and serious heel damage in the attacks that killed at least 31 people and injured dozens of others. But this is not the first time the Mormon missionary has faced attacks.
In 2013, Wells was near the finish line at the Boston Marathon to support his mother, when a bomb exploded just a block away from him, killing three and injuring dozens more. He was also in Paris during the attacks in November, but was in a different part of the city from where the attacks took place. "This is his third terrorist attack," his father Chad Wells told ABC News. "This is the third time that sadly in our society that we have a connection to a bomb blast. We live in a dangerous world and not everyone is kind and loving."
"I think the Boston experience helped him to stay calm," his father said. "I think any of us would be seriously shaken, but I think he's someone who could handle this better than anybody. He's the kind of young man to somehow turn this into a positive," Bishop Scott Bond of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sandy, Utah, told The New York Daily News. Wells was one of three Mormon missionaries hurt in the attacks."
****
Mason would have been about 16 at the time of the Boston Marathon attack.
Yea, I saw that on the news....BBC was making a joke of it....thought it was just a very strange coincidence. I say, 'what are the odds?' - something like one in ten trillion or more. The Mormon's are pretty spooky, in all senses of the term. NSA's new ultimate data storage center is right 'there' now too...and their numbers in the intelligence agencies has always been way higher than their % in the population.

Well, while I'm not saying that this is not just made up or exaggerated to terrorize the European and Western populations (generally), but what would you do if your country had been invaded several times in the last 150 years and again recently, millions killed, your government and nearby governments overthrown, your religion and heritage dragged in the mud, and your faith and aspirations condemned as an entire group - but to strike back at what you perceive as the attackers?!...... It really doesn't take a genius to figure out that there would be less problem if 'we' in the West left others alone, rather than bomb them, steal their resources, kill them, make their lives miserable, and try to control their governments and more for our own purposes..... My own hunch is there have been some real revenge attacks and many more false-flag attacks - with some LIHOP thrown in for good measure.

Yes, Peter, but as we've seen with the FBI's constant recruitment/entrapment of terrorist patsies, it's very easy to take it one step farther. There are lots of angry young Muslims who can be recruited to play a role in attacks like this - they may believe they are actually carrying it out, when the main event is being produced by military-grade explosives and covert operators.

The announcement by the Belgian authorities that they had confiscated more than 30 pounds of the explosive TATP from a dwelling used by the attackers in Brussels was, in some ways, an expected development. But it contained one detail that bomb-disposal technicians and security officials regarded with surprise: the quantity of the particular explosive involved.
TATP, also known as triacetone triperoxide, is a white, crystalline explosive also used in the attacks in Paris in November, though it caused few casualties compared with the terrorists' assault rifles. Highly unstable and sensitive to shock, friction and heat, it breaks down quickly in air. And while it can be made with basic chemistry skills and relatively simple equipment, it is more dangerous and tedious to manufacture than a commonly used fertilizer-based explosive, ammonium nitrate, which an American official, citing intelligence shared by Belgium, said the attackers had also used.
Unlike ammonium nitrate, TATP is typically seen in small quantities, not in the tens of pounds. One American official who had reviewed the intelligence related to the bombs in France and the newer intelligence from Belgium said the recovery of more than 30 pounds indicated an increased capacity since the Paris attacks. And that figure did not include any explosive actually used in the bombs that killed 31 people on Tuesday.
The Belgian authorities also said they had recovered nearly 40 gallons of acetone and eight gallons of hydrogen peroxide, materials used in producing TATP. They made no mention of the acids needed as catalysts or chemicals often used to rinse TATP crystals and remove impurities.
The quantities of explosives and precursors, the American official said, raised questions about how the terrorists were able to elude detection, especially during a manhunt for Salah Abdeslam, the suspect in the Paris attacks who was arrested last week.
Making TATP typically requires meticulous, time-consuming work, adding the catalyst, drop by drop, to a mixture that must be stirred and kept cool, often with a large quantity of ice.
Without specialized equipment, little can be rushed. Adding the catalyst too quickly can lead to aggressive bubbling and rising temperatures. If the reaction gets too hot, it can cause inadvertent explosions.
Even after TATP precursors are acquired, its manufacture can attract attention, because some of the chemicals often involved can generate strong odors.
Drying TATP at room temperature, a last step after rinsing and filtering, also requires a fairly large area, another American official said, unless a vacuum drying chamber is involved. At that point, the TATP would be stored in a relatively airtight container, but if pure, it could not be stored long. After a few weeks, it would be much less powerful.
The intelligence on the explosives suggested that the attack could have been more lethal, the first official said, because two improvised explosive devices constructed with TATP, ammonium nitrate, and a mix of metal bolts and nails were found in suitcases, undetonated, at the airport. A suicide belt was also recovered at the airport, and two more suitcases with bombs were later confiscated during a sweep of a residence used by the suspects.
The technicians noted that TATP would be a logical third choice for terrorists who could not obtain conventional explosives or precursors for the safer-to-handle and easier-to-make fertilizer-based explosives, which are a staple of terrorist and insurgent bombing campaigns in Afghanistan and the Middle East. The damage at the airport suggested a blast wave associated with a relatively large amount of an explosive, three American bomb-disposal technicians said. The terrorists' reliance, at least in part, on TATP was a predictable adaptation to the security climate in Europe, where urban residents buying fertilizer in large quantities might attract attention that purchases of TATP precursors would not.
The officials and bomb-disposal technicians requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to reporters.
The Belgian authorities did not immediately release further details of the bombs used in Brussels, including the means by which they were detonated. But like ammonium nitrate, TATP has a substantial history in terror attacks, although it is more commonly seen as a detonator or the explosive in a makeshift blasting cap, as opposed to a main charge.
The officials noted that in the Paris attacks, TATP had been used as a main charge packed into smaller, plate-like bundles that were sealed with tape and inserted in suicide vests. The tape was apparently intended to limit the explosive's exposure to oxygen and slow its decay.
The bundles in Paris had also, in at least one instance, been spiked with what an official called "enhancements" bits of metal designed to be propelled by the blasts, making the bombs more deadly. This has long been a feature of makeshift bombs, including the unexploded devices recovered in Belgium this week.

Interesting line in Pentagons Brain, about how the Pantagon is baulking at 'hearts & minds'; seems they've dumped the Jasons for being too sensible (they don't think turning ppl into cyborgs is a good idea) & off-goosestep with how the Pentagon is turning itself into a rival Los Zetas - "the most technologically advanced, sophisticated, powerful, ruthlessly violent and dangerous cartel operating in (Mexico)." (- an old reference there), and have turned to the DSB instead https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_Science_Board (who do think turning ppl into cyborgs is a good idea), 'cos they're 'our flava' nutters. This thing that I'm always blabbing-on about, how they've sheep-dipped & silver bulleted me; I watched 'Body of Lies' t'other day, an' the bit where Leo says to Sheik ISIL "We own you" got a shitload of refs, sudden pains & clicks in my head [just like that one to my right temple] - it's not big an' it's not clever, in this electromagnetic soup we're in. The air campaign against ISIL's been simply cosmetic from that side of the 'effort'. Seems to me that there's no will to engage in conversation with some of these ppl, there's just a massive ego-maniacal bunch of seedy, skulking, individuated & surely psychopathically deranged grunts calling the shots (see that Yemeni marketplace last week). It's like a footy penalty shootout, with these mongs as goalie - every bugger expects a goal, but on the off-chance theres a save - HEEEROOOO! WASHINGTON, D.C.
PublishedMarch 23, 2016
Turkish authorities previously arrested one of the perpetrators of the Brussels suicide bombing only three days after his arrival in Turkey via Antalya airport, Daily Sabah has learned.
Ibrahim El Bakraoui (29), one of the two brothers identified by Belgium for being responsible for the attacks that killed at least 31 people in Brussels on Tuesday, entered Turkey on June 11, 2015, and was detained by Turkish authorities on June 14. He subsequently got deported on July 14, 2015, a senior security source said.
Turkish authorities detained El Bakraoui for using a similar route that is used by foreign militants attempting to join Daesh and being in contact with suspected terrorists, sources said.
Turkish police apprehended El Bakraoui during a routine police check to catch possible terror suspects in Turkey's Gaziantep province and deported him from Istanbul Atatürk Airport. The Turkish official said, "We notified Belgium's and the Netherlands's authorities about his travel route and put an exclusion order on him."
British news wire Reuters reported that in previous cases, officials have said that they cannot jail people deported from Turkey without evidence of crime, such as proof showing suspects fought in Syria. Brahim Abdeslam, one of the suicide bombers in Paris in November, was also sent back to Belgium from Turkey early last year.
President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan on Wednesday revealed for the first time that Turkey had previously deported one of the Brussels terror attackers and had notified Belgian authorities.
''Belgian embassy was notified on July 14, 2015 about the deportation of the attacker, who was later released in Belgium'' ErdoÄŸan said and added that Belgium could not find terror links with the suspect, despite Turkey's warnings.
ErdoÄŸan continued by saying that the Netherlands was also involved in the matter as the suspect was deported to the Netherlands at his own request and the Dutch authorities were also informed about the incident.
And from Wiki linked page about Gladio in Brussels and a right-wing connected group called Blood, Soil, Honour & Loyalty (lovely fascist name, eh), we have this little nugget (note the Islamist false flag plan):
[/quote]
Bloed, Bodem, Eer en TrouwFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bloed, Bodem, Eer en Trouw (BBET; "Blood, Soil, Honour and Loyalty") is a Flemish neo-Nazi group, created in 2004 from a splinter of the Flemish branch of the international Nazi skinhead organization Blood & Honour.
History[edit]The group rose to public prominence in September 2006, after 17 members, including 11 soldiers, were arrested under the December 2003 anti-terrorist laws and laws against racism, anti-semitism and negationism. According to Justice Minister Laurette Onkelinx and Interior Minister Patrick Dewael, the suspects were preparing terrorist attacks in order to "destabilize" Belgium.[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP]
150 police agents searched five military barracks in Leopoldsburg and Peer, in the Limburg province near the Dutch border, in the Brussels Royal Military School and in Zedelgem. Police also searched 18 private residences in Flanders. They found military weapons, ammunition, explosives, and a homemade bomb large enough to "blow up a car". Led by Thomas Boutens, the group trained itself on military grounds. It also trained in interrogation and counter-interrogation techniques, as well as in becoming clandestine.[SUP][3][/SUP]
The group was engaged in arms dealing, and one of the suspects worked in the Kleine Brogel military base where United States nuclear weapons are stocked. Thomas Boutens was developing international links, in particular with the Dutch far right movement National Alliance (NA).[SUP][4][/SUP][SUP][5][/SUP][SUP][6][/SUP][SUP][7][/SUP][SUP][8][/SUP][SUP][9][/SUP][SUP][10][/SUP] Several NA members, including party secretary Virginia Kapić, attended a BBET training camp.[SUP][11][/SUP] This led to her position in the party becoming untenable and she soon resigned from her post.
Flemish TV channel VTM claimed (citing justice sources) that the group was preparing to assassinate Filip Dewinter, an important figure of the far right Vlaams Belang party, in a false flag attack that would have been blamed on the Islamist movement. Taking advantage of the ensuing confusion, the group would then murder Dyab Abou Jahjah, leader of the Arab European League. Belgian justice authories denied these claims.[SUP][12][/SUP]
The Belgian press recalled the "bloody eighties," during which the Brabant massacres were carried out (28 deaths), and the Marxist organization Communist Combatant Cells carried out terrorist attacks (2 deaths).[SUP][13][/SUP] Far right groups such as Westland New Post were suspected of being responsible for the Brabant massacres, although the parliamentary commission could not find any definitive proof. Journalist Manuel Abramowicz, a specialist of the far-right and founder of the progressive ResistanceS website and network, was quoted in Le Soir saying that radical right-wing ultras have always had an aim to "infiltrate the state mechanisms" including the army in the 1970s and the 1980s, through Westland New Post and the Front de la Jeunesse.[SUP][14][/SUP]

Belgian nuclear guard shot and security access badge stolen: media

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Two days after bomb attacks at Brussels airport and on a packed metro killed 31 people and injured hundreds, a security guard who worked at a Belgian nuclear plant was murdered and his pass was stolen, Belgian media reported on Saturday. The French language Derniere Heure (DH) newspaper reported the security guard's badge was de-activated as soon as it was discovered he had been shot dead in the Charleroi region of Belgium and his badge stolen.
A police spokeswoman said she could not comment because an investigation was ongoing.
In a nation on high alert following this week's attacks, the report stokes fears about the possibility militants are seeking to get hold of nuclear material or planning to attack a nuclear site. On Thursday, DH had reported the suicide bombers who blew themselves up on Tuesday originally considered targeting a nuclear site, but a series of arrests of suspect militants forced them to speed up their plans and instead switch focus to the Belgian capital.
Late last year, investigators found a video tracking the movements of a man linked to the country's nuclear industry during a search of a flat as part of investigations into the Islamist militant attack on Paris on Nov. 13 that killed 130 people. The video, lasting several hours, showed footage of the entrance to a home in northern Belgium and the arrival and departure of the director of Belgium's nuclear research program.
