CNN had a very interesting program on last night about their use of woman CIA agent Martha Peterson in Moscow. The show told the story of the penetration of the Russian government through Soviet diplomat Aleksandr Ogorodnik who was known by the code name "Trigon".
The show was a pro-CIA propaganda program that didn't mention that organization's involvement in the assassination of the Kennedy brothers or their other democracy-destroying activities. That tricky impasse was glossed over at the right moments by saying they always acted in the interest of national security. Their doings were a black and white situation of good vs evil.
The show was an advertisement for CIA by showing a successful anti-Soviet espionage operation during Ford's administration. Ogorodnik was allegedly exposed by a Chek false defector who betrayed him to KGB. He bit on his CIA poison pill concealed in his pen during his KGB interrogation.
