I only just realised that there is a wealth of info available online if you add the letters 'PDF' to the end of whichever search topic you're looking for - lots of online books, detailed dissertations and more. I've been downloading a lot of material related to the cold war and the NeoCons, and stumbled across this 2009 dissertation from the University of North Carolina. It is 365 pages long and is a very thorough and detailed book on the Neoconservatism movement and its continually expanding role in US right-wing politics, with a number of details regarding Henry Jackson, Team B and the killing detente group that were new to me. The author really knows his stuff.
The whole work can be downloaded in full Word doc. format here.

Thanks for that Anthony. I also hadn't heard of Team B and decided to download the book and have stepped gingerly into it.
It does look very interesting and the Team B history almost had me smiling ---- almost, due to what I regard as the very obvious psychological projection going on amongst the Team B members and the motives they attributed to the Soviet Union.
I mention this because the history is now relatively clear on some of these issues. For example, on page 230/31 the author reveals that the thinking of the neocons was that the Soviets, rather than "mirror-imaging" perceived US intentions (engaging in trade, protecting their markets etc) were ideologically intent on destroying the US and working towards "conquest of the world".
And the neocons in their madness wanted to re-orient away from nuclear deterrence and, instead, engage in "nuclear war fighting" to defeat this shadow phantasmagoria of themselves.
It is now all too evident that the reality was and is the other way around. The US wants to conquer the world (one world) and may well gamble on nuclear war in order to destroy Russia.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.
