On Quantum Anti-Gravity and Other Possible Odd Effects In the Universe.
#1
I am a trained scientist. I know a lot about quantum physics and it is weird [compared to everyday macroscopic experience]. I am not convinced in anti-gravity effects, but it is a field that both quacks and honest scientists have explored - and I believe it is a valid field of study as long as one keeps within the limits of science and avoids the quackery. I stumbled upon one of the better websites on this matter for the layman. There is math, but one need not understand it to understand the ideas expressed. It is clear and shows that some observed phenomenon have yet to be fully explained. Other possible explanations other than anti-gravity effects are possible, however. For those interested, take a look at this website: https://quantumantigravity.wordpress.com/study-guide/

Peter I know noting of this area but a good friend and JFK researcher here- Richard Bartholomew- tells me that this area of science has proven that time is a myth. I find this most hard to believe. We see sunset and sunrise, years come and go, we age...die and new generations replace us. This is all time based. To me it is akin to saying gravity is a myth?

That gets into rather strange territory, perhaps beyond the remit of this Forum. Einstein and others have convincingly shown that time is just another dimension of space-time and in most or perhaps all ways equal to spacial dimensions which we perceive as different than time. Again, it gets complex [more so when some physicists think there are more than four dimensions]; but I'd say that both space [place, position] and time [past, present, future] are real, it is rather that 'stuff' [things that 'exist' - that we perceive to exist] is much more deceptive. Our senses see walls, rocks, trees, our bodies, etc. as solid - when they are mostly empty space and even what is not empty space is not filled with 'anything' we understand as 'stuff' - but energy, charges, magnetism, gravity and other fields. On the very large [universe] and very small [sub-atomic] size scales things get very strange and very different than we experience and have to deal with in our ordinary lives as perceived by our sensory apparatus. The idea of quantum anti-gravity or vacuum free-energy are somewhat connected [maybe] to dark matter and more likely to dark energy [which both make up the majority of all the 'stuff' in the universe, by far]. What we call the vacuum of space [supposedly nothing at all - the absence of anything] may well not have much 'stuff' in it, but seems to be filled with energy fields. Whether they can be 'harnessed' is another matter; perhaps they are in a parallel universe and not a part of ours. With the idea of a multiverse it gets even stranger still....but I digress....

...there appears to be nothing real but space-time and energy fields that react with space-time. All things that seem to exist as 'stuff' are only apparently 'stuff'; in reality only fields of various sorts interacting with space-time in ways only partly understood.
