Well well well. Seems like saner heads may be prevailing at CP:

... JFK: It's quite likely that JFK was felled by a conspiracy orchestrated by the CIA, involving the Cuban exile underworld and possibly the New Orleans syndicate, pretty much as Oliver Stone said in JFK. Much of Stone's material comes via CIA whistle-blower USAF Col. L. Fletcher Prouty. Here's the
epilogue to his book
JFK: The CIA, Vietnam and the Plot to Assassinate John F. Kennedy that the printer strangely omitted.

Not much of a breakthrough and kind of a weird article. If Dutton really does suspect that
Quote:JFK was felled by a conspiracy orchestrated by the CIA, involving the Cuban exile underworld and possibly the New Orleans syndicate, pretty much as Oliver Stone said in JFK
then I suspect he could find better things to write about than 95% of what he's included in the article. He includes a mention of faked moon landings, and I'm surprised he didn't chuck in a mention of Bigfoot while he was at it. Also, while I have zero knowledge of what precisely led to Vince Foster's death, I'm fairly certain that Dutton doesn't have that much more additional info on the topic either, so I'm not sure how he can so confidently rule out foul play.
Barring the paragraph quoted above, it reads like a piece written to Counterpunch's usual template of smirking and rolling its eyes at gullible conspiracy theorists. I can't see it leading to many people going off to read more about the murder of JFK.

I take your point, but it's still a step forward. I also don't dismiss the possibility - admittedly small - that somebody just might decide to read more about the assassination.
