The FBI Knew about Ferrie on 11/22/63

Malcolm Blunt should have a monument erected to him. I had never seen the following document before, but Blunt found it and Bart Kamp scanned it and sent it to me.

The FBI had info that David Ferrie could be a suspect in the JFK case on 11/22/63. Which is before Jim Garrison did. They then learn that Ferrie probably knew Oswald. The FBI then begins to launch a preliminary investigation, telling the police intel officer that they would be interested in any more info on Oswald and his association with Ferrie. They then get it from other sources. That is the CAP.

But then the agent, Mr. Sylvester, calls Washington for advice, that is Deke DeLoach. Almost instantly, the cover up gets snapped on. And who does the Bureau end up trusting? David Ferrie.

Remarkable document which I had never seen before. The FBI was determined NOT to solve the JFK case. They then let Ferrie go and say it was only Garrison that was interested in him. Meanwhile this document shows they were also. Until the Washington boys said, forget it.

Interesting article, Jim. Thanks for sharing. Too bad Steven Roy isn't around to see this. There was a thread on jfkfacts (22.09.18) about Ferrie that is worth viewing.

I did take a look at that thread, which was not bad until Roy and McAdams hopped on.

BTW, if you look at Rolland's actual trial testimony, hard to say how Ferrie could have skated at that rink, since he did not pay the rental fees. Its also clear that he was trying to establish an alibi since every time he talked to Rolland he said his name first.

Also, the FBI talked to Rolland a few days later. In other words, up until about the 29th, the Bureau was investigating Ferrie. Its pretty clear that then the marching orders were made clear: we do not want to be actively investigating this guy, since it will unveil a whole mare's nest of fishy circumstances.

The FBI also knew about Jack Ruby's ties to both the Mob and the Dallas Police Department on 11/25/1963.

And didn't report said ties to the Warren Commission.

I went through statement after statement by members of the DPD
in FBI files at the National Archives (well before the Internet was active), and almost all admitted knowing
Ruby. Many admitted being guests in his club or had encountered him in
their line of work, and it's known that he supplied strippers to the cops. Chief Curry admitted Ruby knew a great number of the police force. How early the FBI knew I'd have to check, but it was common
knowledge in Dallas that he was tight with the cops; he was the
bagman between the mob and the cops. DA Henry Wade admitted knowing Ruby. There's also the fascinating
live TV footage of local anchorman Bob Walker reacting to the identification
of the shooter as Ruby; he clearly knows Ruby well (as did many members of the media) and is shocked
by what happened but evidently not entirely surprised. The Dallas FBI also probably
recognized Ruby almost immediately from their police contacts and their own knowledge (especially
since Lee Oswald was an FBI informant about the plot). And I often think back to how Ruby tried to tell the Warren
Commission that he was more heavily involved in the assassination than
they seemed to realize; they of course didn't want to hear that. Warren tells
Ruby that no one has said that to them, but Ruby replies that Warren doesn't know this area here. Carl Oglesby has
a brilliant and moving analysis of Ruby's Warren Commission testimony in his book THE
YANKEE AND COWBOY WAR, an essential book for studying the political dynamics
behind the case.

How can the FBI claim NOT TO KNOW if the rifle was identified ? Even in New Orleans?

If this is the case... that early December report from Italy is even more important... and even moreso is that the FBI was supposed to have all the Rifle info from KLEINS on Saturday morning the 23rd...

I'll be presenting this in Dallas... an FBI agent takes the microfilm and has it copied, then returns "a film" to WALDMAN.... This is on Dec 6th.

Am I over reacting here?

On 11/25 in New Orleans... not knowing what was up with the rifle except for the news about it only reinforces the FBI needing to create the supporting evidence...

That's what I'll show in Dallas... the June Order either never existed or was a completely different order - there are tell-tale signs it was a different order as well...
