My first thought on viewing that new DPF masthead picture was that it was of some deeply patriotic event with JFK a little behind the curve in adopting the posture required by such occasions. The sort of thing (like for example the 'Star Spangled Banner' played in public) that illicits that well known and - to non-US citizens - deeply irritating knee-jerk ritualized behaviour: erect, motionless stance with jutting chin, misty-eyed gaze to the middle distance, right hand palm on left breast etc. Then I noticed everyone else in the picture had distinctly non-ritualised behaviour postures.
So what was JFK's problem ? :hmmmm2:
Then it struck me. Looks like he's been taken with a fit of nausea at the thought of having to eat that giant cake.

Well President Kennedy only has one day to eat the birthday cake we're sharing with him (his 46th birthday, DPF's 1st). Then we go back to our normal banner.
Happy birthday DPF!

Actually, he's thinking about who will be jumping out of the cake later at the Carlyle.
Happy Birthday, Mr. President.
It reminds me of George Carlin's summation of how far America and the presidency have fallen since the Kennedy years.
To paraphrase: "JFK made love to Marilyn Monroe. Bill Clinton showed his dick to a government clerk."

Thanks a bunch for that CD. Hadn't seen it before but it's priceless and right on the button.
I'll be chuckling away at it all day

Is this what you're looking for Paul?
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

Yes, but not in a "biblical" sense...

My mistake.
Yours Sin-cerely,
