I want to welcome Douglas Valentine to the DPF. Valentine is the author of excellent books on the Phoenix Program, the Federal Bureau of Narcotics-- and its deep political relations with the CIA, as well as a new book on the the DEA. He is generally very well informed on many different aspects of intelligence history. I am sure he will prove a valuable addition to DPF.

I'm eager to read all of them, and especially eager to read The Phoenix Program. Just seems relevant.
Welcome to DPF Douglas.

Douglas, et al,
Nate will begin a new thread in our "Books" section. The goal will be to create and maintain a dialogue among the author and our worthy correspondents.
Your active participation in our work, sir, is most welcome.
Best,
CD

If an individual, through either his own volition or events over which he had no control, found himself taking up residence in a country undefined by flags or physical borders, he could be assured of one immediate and abiding consequence: He was on his own, and solitude and loneliness would probably be his companions unto the grave.

You can't blame the innocent, they are always guiltless. All you can do is control them or eliminate them. Innocence is a kind of insanity.

Ooooh, welcome indeed. (Someone is going to get a large gold star on their progress report.)
