C.D. Jackson bought the Zapruder film on behalf of Life magazine and had long time intel connections. Were they related? Donald Jackson did the story on LHO for the Feb 21st 1964 edition (the one with Oswald on the cover holding the rifle) Does any one know?

Donald Dale Jackson, 70, died February 23, 2006. His obituary is available for a free trial at

As Charles Douglas Jackson was born March 16, 1902, and died September 18, 1964, he might be father to the author of the Oswald article.
A cursory search has not established a relation from either end.

As careful as C.D. Jackson was in propaganda matters, the necessity of entrusting such important work to blood would be paramount.

Thanks Phil. That was my initial thought as well. I'm not getting anything on their families in either case. Donald is a Standford man and C. D. is a Princeton man. Interestingly Donald went to Stanford with a Luce (a few years ahead) but I am not sure if it is the same family. This guy ended up working for Regan when he was governor and went to Washington with him too.

He, C.D., has a widow as I think it was her who donated his papers to the Eisenhower library. But what her name is I haven't found tonight either. It's like he arrived on the scene fully formed and without any family though I am sure they are there in the back ground.
