Meddling Minty stokes the fires of British fascism

Many a visitor will be from other sides of the flagellated bottom -- for chastisement is a cross-bench (not so say cross-knee) occupation.

I fully expect readers from such notable journals as the "Well Bruised Organ", the "Socialist Spanker" as well as its Communist Counterpart "Red Weal" to be well represented here as well --- not to mention those whose preference is up the middle: "The Liberal Love Buddy", "The Cymru Chastiser" and the Green Party bi-annual (printed on renewable recycled tree shavings) "The Galloping Goitre".

'The Patron': Labour donor Lord Hamlyn unveiled as long-term client of Australia's most notorious dominatrix

Quote:With his vast fortune of £300million, publishing giant Paul Hamlyn had the world at his feet - along with a secret lover, whom he flew around the world for sex in hotel rooms and sumptuous London apartments.

The late British founder of a publishing empire, Lord Hamlyn enjoyed years of sex with a notorious Australian dominatrix known as Madame Lash, who kept a sex-torture dungeon and packed a suitcase filled with sex toys for the peer's personal enjoyment, it was revealed today.

The astonishing secret life of Lord Hamlyn and his flamboyant black lipstick and stiletto-wearing lover is revealed in a new biography by Sam Everingham.

The Australian writer reached an agreement with Madam Lash - whose real name is Gretel Pinniger - that he would not name him in the biography 'Madam Lash: Gretel Pinniger's Scandalous Life of Sex, Art and Bondage'.

But Mr Everingham confirmed to the Mail today that the man she refers to in the book as 'the Patron' is in fact Lord Hamlyn, who died in 2001 after suffering from cancer, pneumonia and Parkinson's disease.

'I promised her I would leave his name out, which I did, but there have been whispers all around Sydney for years that he was her secret lover,' said Mr Everingham. 'It was inevitable that after the book came out those whispers would grow louder.

'Her life with him spanned many years after he was introduced to her in 1977 through a businessman he met on one of his annual trips to Australia.

The Australian writer of a new biography on Madame Lash, Sam Everingham, has confirmed him to be 'the Patron', one of her best customers

'When he met her he was in his early 50s and married, of course. He had so much money, though, that he could afford to fly her anywhere he wanted and enjoy all manner of sexual liaisons with her.'

Speaking at his Melbourne home, Mr Everingham added: 'She wanted me to keep his name out of it because she still receives money from his estate and doesn't want that to come to an end. Of course it was going to be rather embarrassing for his family, too, should his name leak out.

'He was a very discreet man and worked very hard at keeping their meetings private. To ensure that, he paid her a very large amount of money for her discretion and to keep her happy.

'She was basically at his beck and call at all times - he didn't want her working and not to be available.

'Although he managed to come to Australia at times, more often than not it was she who travelled to see him; Singapore, Europe, you name it and she would fly to be with him and engage in their sexual stuff.

'He even put her up in an apartment in London while he was in another and then they would team up.

'When they weren't physically together, he loved to call her up on his car phone and she would answer her own car phone, which he made sure she had.

'Whenever she received the call to join him, she would pack a bag with unimaginable sex toys.'

Mention the name Madam Lash around Sydney today and long-term residents in the harbour city picture a woman in dominatrix gear, complete with whip - a lingering pose that she was always proud to adopt for photographers.

But she also dressed to kill for other big names, such as Clyde Packer, the elder brother of the late media baron, Kerry.

Today, at the age of 64, she still throws the wild parties for which she was famous, despite having a mastectomy and two hip replacements.

But since the launch of her biography she has gone to ground, furious, say friends, that Lord Hamlyn's name is now doing the rounds - just as she did when he was alive
"There are three sorts of conspiracy: by the people who complain, by the people who write, by the people who take action. There is nothing to fear from the first group, the two others are more dangerous; but the police have to be part of all three,"

I don't think he was the only "patron'. The late Kerry Packer as well as his brother Clyde was said to be very fond of her and he had a lovely daughter named Gretel. There is much to thank the private school system for.

"He would, wouldn't he?" Mandy Rice-Davies. When asked in court whether she knew that Lord Astor had denied having sex with her.

“I think it would be a good idea” Ghandi, when asked about Western Civilisation.
