Pennsylvania’s Homeland Security Chief Goes Into Hiding

September 17th, 2010 Via: Post Gazette:
The former Special Forces colonel who has headed the state Office of Homeland Security for four years and who now finds himself at the center of a firestorm over an anti-terrorism contract is missing in action.
James F. Powers Jr. has basically gone underground since Tuesday, when Gov. Ed Rendell denounced a $103,000 no-bid contract that Mr. Powers had given to the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response, which has offices in Philadelphia and Israel.
Mr. Powers, who makes $106,602 a year, hasn’t been returning phone calls from the news media this week and was said to be out of his office when a reporter stopped in on Wednesday. He did not return a call to his home and his office turned down a request to interview him.
Mr. Powers, who lives in Carlisle, served in the Army from 1971 to 2001 in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Korea and Washington.
The Rendell administration chose him in June 2006 to direct the state Office of Homeland Security, part of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.
Before joining the state Mr. Powers had several jobs, including a “special operations” consultant for KWG Consulting in Virginia, an adjunct instructor for the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle and a senior fellow with the U.S. Special Operations Command in Hurlburt, Fla.

GORDON DUFF: TAXPAYERS FUNDING ISRAELI DATABASE OF AMERICAN CITIZENS

- 18. Sep, 2010 in Commentary/Analysis, Israel, Media, Middle east, News/Politics, U.S. Foreign Policy, War -
1
CAUGHT! MOSSAD PAID BY U.S. TO SPY ON “DISSIDENTS,” TEA PARTY, ENVIRONMENTALISTS –

[Image: Duff-Mosaad-spy-paid-by-Us2.gif]Never has a nation funded a foreign spy organization’s efforts to catalog potential intelligence assets, operatives and, at the same time, take over the job of watching themselves. This is one of the greatest intelligence coups in history. Combine this with control of America’s airport security and total control of America’s communications networks, everything, mobile, internet, even landlines….we might as well pull down the flag and roll over.
Did you know that attending a meeting to organize a bake sale for new band uniforms can put you on a terrorist watch list? You don’t have to join a peace group or protest oil drilling to be considered dangerous. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hired ITRR, the Instititute of Terrorism Research and Response, a Jerusalem based company owned by the Mossad and tied directly to the Israeli Ministry of Defense to track “dissidents” and “activists.” In the process, they managed to find the most dangerous terrorist organization of all, the governor’s own non-profit organization, one supporting school funding initiatives. From ITTR’s website:
All of the information ITRR’s staff creates is sent to its monitoring center in Jerusalem, where it is analyzed”
Governments, states, cities and even rural towns, believing they are participating in a Homeland Security initiative, have contracted with this and other organizations under foreign control, read “Israeli,” tracking organizations as diverse as the Tea Party and the Sierra Club. Reports submitted by ITTR showed them spying on nearly every organization they could find, no matter how innocent, patriotic or public minded. Organizations tied to Jewish causes, however, managed, somehow, to slip under the radar.

Those that were included are so comprehensive that it would be nearly impossible for an American to escape having confidential files, collected under government authority and financing, paid for by American taxpayers, held by Israeli intelligence agencies. In fact, databases include every organization, regardless of its membership or policies, with personal information on members being stored in databases in Israel.[Image: ITRR2.jpg.scaled.500.jpg]

Governor Rendell expressed shock at the gross violation of constitutional rights involved in hiring this company, one that is said to be working for state and local governments across the United States. Rendell said he was “stunned” when he learned about the spying relationship, one he characterized as “ludicrous.” From Governor Rendell’s apology to the people of Pennsylvania at a capitol news conference this week:
“I am deeply embarrassed and I apologize to any of the groups who had this information disseminated on their right to peacefully protest”
[Image: Duff-Brit-Hume.gif]As early as December 2001, not long after the 9/11 incident, Fox News investigated Israeli spying on the United States. However, not long after airing the Carl Cameron Report with Brit Hume as Host, not only did the show itself disappear but all transcripts as well, at least “almost all.”
BRIT HUME, HOST: It has been more than 16 years since a civilian working for the Navy was charged with passing secrets to Israel. Jonathan Pollard pled guilty to conspiracy to commit espionage and is serving a life sentence.
At first, Israeli leaders claimed Pollard was part of a rogue operation, but later took responsibility for his work. Now Fox News has learned some U.S. investigators believe that there are Israelis again very much engaged in spying in and on the U.S., who may have known things they didn’t tell us before September 11. …

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

CARL CAMERON, FOX NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Since September 11, more than 60 Israelis have been arrested or detained, either under the new patriot anti-terrorism law, or for immigration violations. A handful of active Israeli military were among those detained, according to investigators, who say some of the detainees also failed polygraph questions when asked about alleged surveillance activities against and in the United States.
There is no indication that the Israelis were involved in the 9-11 attacks, but investigators suspect that they Israelis may have gathered intelligence about the attacks in advance, and not shared it. A highly placed investigator said there are “tie-ins.” But when asked for details, he flatly refused to describe them, saying, “evidence linking these Israelis to 9-11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It’s classified information.”
Numerous classified documents obtained by Fox News indicate that even prior to September 11, as many as 140 other Israelis had been detained or arrested in a secretive and sprawling investigation into suspected espionage by Israelis in the United States. Investigators from numerous government agencies are part of a working group that’s been compiling evidence since the mid ’90s. These documents detail hundreds of incidents in cities and towns across the country that investigators say, “may well be an organized intelligence gathering activity.”
The first part of the investigation focuses on Israelis who say they are art students from the University of Jerusalem and Bazala Academy. They repeatedly made contact with U.S. government personnel, the report says, by saying they wanted to sell cheap art or handiwork. Documents say they, “targeted and penetrated military bases.” [Image: ScreenHunter_02-Sep.-17-11.43.gif]
The DEA, FBI and dozens of government facilities, and even secret offices and unlisted private homes of law enforcement and intelligence personnel. The majority of those questioned, “stated they served in military intelligence, electronic surveillance intercept and or explosive ordinance units.”
Why would Israelis spy in and on the U.S.?
A GAO investigation states: “According to a U.S. intelligence agency, the government of (Israel) conducts the most aggressive espionage operations against the U.S. …It aggressively collects military and industrial technology and the U.S. is a high priority target.” The document concludes: “Israel possesses the resources and technical capability to achieve its collection objectives.” (END VIDEO CLIP)
And in the days ahead, we’ll take a look at the U.S. phone system and law enforcement’s methods for wiretaps. And an investigation that both have been compromised by our friends overseas.
HUME: Carl, what about this question of advanced knowledge of what was going to happen on 9-11? How clear are investigators that some Israeli agents may have known something?
CAMERON: It’s very explosive information, obviously, and there’s a great deal of evidence that they say they have collected — none of it necessarily conclusive. It’s more when they put it all together. A bigger question, they say, is how could they not have know?
These Fox News revelations from 2001, long dead and gone, buried in the archives never to be heard from again, tell a story, not of betrayal by a “friend” or “ally” but one of America’s national obsession with memory loss, almost as though the “hard drive” meant to represent America’s common sense was “wiped,” reformatted after picking up a virus from opening one of those nasty emails we are all warned about. The virus, of course, is the mainstream news media itself.
The Pennsylvania spying story was never reported nationally. It couldn’t be, there is a “blackout” on any news critical of Israel, real forced censorship, part of the official policy of the Obama administration, as it was of the Bush administration, cheerfully adhered to by media owned and operated by Israel itself.
The Fox News report of 2001, showing America’s counter-terrorism organizations hot on the trail of Israel, was the last report of its kind on any major network. Not one word spoken of by Cameron or Hume has been repeated in nine long years. Not one lead has been followed up, not one more question asked, the entire thing, forgotten, forgiven, overlooked or perhaps something darker and more threatening.
UPDATE:
The Pittsburgh Tribune Review, owned by Richard Mellon Scaife, neo-con extremist and “Israeli firster” carried an odd, truncated version of the recent spy scandal in Pennsylvania/
The Scaife owned paper makes no mention of Israel or other “open source” information available on the company’s website. Note that Scaife refers to suspected Mossad operations officer and recruiter, Richman as a “former police captain in the Israeli capital.” Further note that the article mentions environmentalists and gays but fails to mention other groups, or that, in fact ALL groups were being monitored from the Veterans of Foreign Wars to the American Rifle Association.
Mr. Scaife’s relationship with Israeli intelligence was being “looked into ” by investigative reporter Steve Kanga. Mr. Kanga was found “suicided” outside Scaife’s offices, no note was found. How stupid do they think we all are? Don’t answer that. For a good read on “convenient” suicides, see a February 2009 article by Gordon Duff in Veterans Today.
AND NOW, RICHARD MELLON SCAIFE’S PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE INTERPRETATION:

“An obscure York nonprofit with ties to Philadelphia University and Jerusalem is behind the state Homeland Security agency’s monitoring of protesters, environmentalists and gays, documents show.
The Institute of Terrorism Research and Response is headed by Michael Perelman, who formerly worked for the York City Police Department, and Aaron Richman, a former police captain in the Israeli capital, according to filings with the Pennsylvania Department of State.
Gov. Ed Rendell apologized Tuesday after the disclosure that the state Office of Homeland Security paid the institute $125,000 for weekly reports the agency used to put Marcellus shale hearings and a gay and lesbian festival on terror watch lists for law enforcement.
“We are appalled at what we have learned so far about these reports,” said Witold Walczak, legal director for the ACLU of Pennsylvania. “It all smacks of J. Edgar Hoover. Saying that no harm was done is simplistic. Just raising questions about a group or a person can cause harm. Dissent does not equal danger.”
Perelman declined to comment but provided a statement that explained in general terms what his organization does:
“The mission of the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response is to identify and analyze information that can be leveraged to prevent injury, loss of life and destruction of property. At times, that means providing guidance on the potential for deadly actions.”
Richman could not be reached for comment.
Rendell said Wednesday he does not plan to fire anyone in his administration because what happened was the “collective responsibility” of state Homeland Security and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. He has appointed a task force headed by Steven Crawford, his chief of staff, to investigate the state’s contract with the institute and how to distribute security alerts in the future.
Homeland Security did not put the one-year contract with the institute up for bid because the state Department of General Services determined no other company could provide a similar service, said Maria Finn, a Homeland Security spokeswoman.
The institute’s website provides few details about Perelman and Richman.
They formed the company six years ago in York to provide “on-site educational seminars on institutional security against terrorism and other threats,” a state filing shows. Three years later, in 2007, they formed a nonprofit foundation for “enhancing anti-terror training.”
Richman works as an assistant professor at Philadelphia University, which identifies him as a former police captain in Jerusalem, a paramedic and a doctoral candidate in Public Policy and Homeland Security.
Rendell insisted at a Downtown news conference that while Homeland Security disseminated information about groups to law enforcement, the agency did not monitor protests. No video or photo surveillance was conducted, either, he said.
“If this wasn’t so wrong, it would be laughable,” said state Rep. Doug Reichley, R-Allentown.
A spokesman for House Minority Leader Sam Smith, R-Punxsutawney, asked how the contract was awarded. “I’m wondering, who are these people, who vetted them, and who chose them in the first place?” Stephen Miskin said. “Instead of spending $125,000 to spy on protesters, you could look at the governor’s budget cuts and look at what else could have been funded.”
Several House Republicans, including Reichley, called for the House government committee to investigate the contract and others doled out during the Rendell administration with “no oversight,” Miskin said.

Harah!: Israeli Company Hired by State Government to Spy on Pennsylvanians

Sat, 09/18/2010 - 15:59

by:
Dave Lindorff

The surprise disclosure that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, through its state Homeland Security Agency, along with a number of local police departments in the state, have been employing a private Israeli security company with strong links to Mossad and the Israeli Defense Force to spy on law-abiding citizens, grows increasingly disturbing when the website of the company, called the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response, is examined.
ITRR’s slick site at TerrorResponse.org features a homepage image of an armor-clad soldier or riot policeman preparing to fire an automatic pistol, while the company boasts of being “the preeminent Isreal/American security firm, providing training, intelligence and education for clients across the globe.”
[Image: ITRRimage.jpg]Image captured from ITRR's website
The firm, which offers courses locally at the University of Philadelphia, notes that all its course offerings, some of which are taught in Israel, are “approved by the Israeli Ministry of Defense.” The course titles include such compelling topics as: “Tactical Advantage in Combat,” “Civilian Battlefield,” “Undercover/Plainclothes Tactical Operations,” “Israeli Shooting Techniques,” “Arena Combat,” “Hard Entry (Arrest)” and “Principles of Night Operations.” While a number of the titles link to course descriptions, the links to the undercover class and the civilian battlefield class were disabled when this reporter visited the site, which was two days after the company’s role as a state security contractor was exposed.
The description for the Tactical Advantage course, which the website says was designed for military, law enforcement and security personnel, describes the program as “intense, dirty, aggressive and based on Israeli Counter-Terror Schools policy.” It says “This course pushes trainees to the physical and mental edge.”
American organizations which engage in protests and rallies, hearing that reference to the Israeli Counter-Terror Schools policy, might recall the IDF’s handling of the aid flotilla that was boarded on the high seas by IDF troops as they read these lines. That assault, in which the Israelis used 9mm semi-automatic weapons against defenders armed at most with sticks and light chains, left nine flotilla participants, including a young Turkish American, dead.
The Institute of Terrorism Research and Response, which only lists a post-box address in Philadelphia (though in its report on the scandal the Philadelphia Inquirer referred to ITRR as a “Philadelphia-based company with offices in Philadelphia and Jerusalem”), also advertises a subsidiary operation it calls a Targeted Action Monitoring Center (TAM-C), which it claims is “world renowned” and which it says supplies “factual, actionable intelligence to subscribers.” All information gathered by the firm’s staff of “former law enforcement, military and intelligence professionals” is sent to the Israeli headquarters of the TAM-C for processing--a move which effectively insulates it from discovery by any surveillance victims who might seek disclosure under federal or state Freedom of Information laws, or who might sue in court for violation of their civil liberties.
While ITRR doesn’t name any of its clients, it says they range from Fortune 100 companies, including the power industry, maritime companies, US infrastructure companies, “the company company charged with protecting oil production facilities,” missionary organizations and pharmaceutical firms, to law enforcement agencies and joint terrorism task forces.
But ITRR does much more than just monitor terrorists. Indeed, it seems to be far too busy monitoring legitimate, non-violent and completely legal protest organizations and other political groups to do much real anti-terror work. According to news reports on ITRR’s work for the Pennsylvania Homeland Security Agency and also the Pittsburgh Police Department, it would appear that ITRR was spying on and providing Pennsylvania State Police and Homeland Security with reports on everything from anti-war groups and anti-oil-shale-fracking groups to gay rights groups, animal rights groups, environmental organizations and even Good Schools Pennsylvania, a citizens association formed to back Gov. Ed Rendell’s school reform initiatives. Even a Harrisburg, PA man who likes to bring a 25-foot inflatable pig to demonstrations to symbolize government waste was targeted.
While local news media reports in Philadelphia have suggested that ITRR is just composed of two people, an Israeli former intelligence operative and a retired New York City police officer named Michael Perelman, the website makes it clear that the company actually employs a large number of people in Israel, and may have as many as 15 people working “in the field” in the US.
Its activities are not limited to Pennsylvania either. The firm boasts on its website that “Information provided to clients ranges from issues of global jihad to Mexican Cartel threats along America’s southern border (maybe that’s where Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer got her weird tale, eventually debunked and retracted, of beheadings in the border desert?) to providing guidance of the threat of disorders as a result of international monetary meetings.”
This latter is a reference to the yeoman work ITRR reportedly did for the Pittsburg Police Department in advance of the disastrous G-20 meeting in Pittsburgh, which turned into a police riot after the local government and police brought in hundreds of reinforcements from other cities, with cops suited up as though for war, to lock down the city and prevent students from demonstrating against the predations of international capital and international “free trade” agreements. It appears that ITRR had ingratiated its way into the confidence of demonstration planners by having its agents join chat rooms and websites “posing as G-20 opponents.” One wonders whether these same agents may have also acted as agents provocateur.
As the head of Pennsylvania’s Homeland Security Agency, James Powers, who hired ITRR, put it, “We got the information to the Pittsburgh Police, and they were able to cut them off at the pass.”
So much for the Constitutional right to protest!
Several calls for comment made to the Homeland Security Agency and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency which oversees it went unanswered.
Gov. Rendell, after the story about ITRR’s activities for the state under a no-bid, $125,000/year contract, broke, claimed he was “embarrassed” by the spying on non-violent civic action organizations, and vowed to cancel the contract effective this October.
It is not clear, however, that there will be any information provided about who was spied on over the time the company has been active. Members of both political parties in the state legislature are calling for a General Assembly hearing into ITRR’s activities, but such calls in this closely divided body generally come to little or nothing. Meanwhile, Rendell, a lame duck governor headed for the exit, is unlikely to do anything about the issue beyond saying he’s embarrassed by it. He has said he has no intention of firing Powers.
I know how damaging this kind of spying by state and local governments can be. Back in the mid-1970s, when I and some journalist colleagues owned and ran a small weekly alternative newspaper in Los Angeles, the LA Vanguard, we were among the targets of a massive illegal spying campaign by the paranoid Los Angeles Police Department’s “red squad,” the Public Disorder Intelligence Division. Our staff was actually penetrated by a young red squad officer, who pretended to be a student wannabe journalist in order to try to learn our sources for reports on the LAPD. But we were only one of about 200 groups, ranging from a local anti-nuclear group to the Peace & Freedom Party, a well-known third party in California electoral politics, to the National Organization for Woman and even the office of then City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky.
The reason we all learned about what the LAPD red squad was doing was that one spy was outed, a class-action suit was filed by the ACLU of Southern California, there was discovery ordered by the court, and eventually the city of Los Angeles settled with the victims of the campaign, to the tune of $1.8 million.
The Pennsylvania ACLU may sue Pennsylvania over this latest domestic spying outrage, but the times have changed, and it is hard to be confident that the courts, no great friend of civil liberties at the state level, and packed with Reagan and Bush 1 and 2 appointees at the federal level, will mandate disclosure of the names of groups spied on, much less of the records that were compiled. Furthermore, because the state did this spying through an outside contractor, which is headquartered in Israel, government and police agencies could claim that the records are for the most part out of their hands and beyond the courts’ jurisdiction.
At least one man, Gene Stilp, owner of the giant inflatable pig, already has plans to sue the government in federal court. "When people's civil rights are trampled it's a federal issue," says Stilp, himself a licensed attorney. Stilp says he isn’t satisfied with Rendell’s statement that he is “embarrassed” by the disclosure of ITRR’s contract. “Being embarrassed doesn’t cut it,” says Stilp, who is calling for an investigation into ITRR’s spying activities by the attorney general or the federal government, and full disclosure of which groups and individuals were spied upon.
Another person who has good reason to believe he was probably targeted by ITRR is ThisCantBeHappening!’s own John Grant. Says Grant, “The more I read about this affair, the more disturbing it seems. I'm a Vietnam veteran and part of an organization -- Veterans For Peace -- that very publicly opposes the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. We meet monthly and we organize events with other anti-war groups. All First-Amendment-protected, red-blooded American stuff. To think that some self-ordained watchdog group of security freaks is monitoring me and my friends and reporting our activities to God-knows who in the context of 'terrorism' -- and probably making tons of money doing it -- really pisses me off. Governor Rendell should be embarrassed. He should come clean and make public all the groups and people this gang was spying and reporting on. The fact they are somehow connected to Israel -- a nation many of us have been critical of -- is further reason to clear up what's going on."

Rendell’s Office Releases Content of All Bulletins on Planned Protests

September 21st, 2010 Here’s the document dump: PA Intelligence Bulletins.
Via: Philadelphia Inquirer:
The bulletins, issued to police, public officials, and commercial interests three times a week since October, were prepared by a private contractor that the state Office of Homeland Security hired last year for $103,000 without competitive bidding. Much of their content – such as announcements of protest events – was readily available through Internet searches.
The contractor the state hired, the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response, lists offices in Philadelphia, Washington, and Jerusalem. The state Homeland Security Office in turn disseminated the information to a yet-undisclosed list of police, elected officials, and others in the private sector, Rendell spokesman Gary Tuma said.
Rendell said Tuesday that the contract would be terminated next month when it comes up for renewal. The state still receives alerts from the institute, but none has been disseminated since Monday, Tuma said.

Big Brother Has Come to the Birthplace of America

Pennsylvania is literally the birthplace of the United States of America. The Constitutional Convention was held in Philadelphia, and that is where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed.
It is therefore disconcerting that Pennsylvania's tax authority - the Department of Revenue - recently launched a big brother "we know where you live" type ad:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ylAjZOHL...r_embedded

And according to the Department of Justice's Inspector General (via AP), the FBI spied on an anti-war rally in Pittsburgh sponsored by a nonviolent anti-war and anti-discrimination group, pretending it was preventing terrorism:
The FBI gave inaccurate information to Congress and the public when it claimed a possible terrorism link to justify surveilling an anti-war rally in Pittsburgh, the Justice Department's inspector general said Monday in a report on the bureau's scrutiny of domestic activist groups. Inspector General Glenn Fine said the FBI had no reason to expect that anyone of interest in a terrorism investigation would be present at the 2002 event sponsored by the Thomas Merton Center, a nonviolent anti-war and anti-discrimination group.
The surveillance was "an ill-conceived project on a slow work day," the IG stated in a study of several FBI domestic terrorism probes of people affiliated with organizations such as Greenpeace and the Catholic Worker.
Earlier, in statements to Congress and in a press release, the FBI had described the surveillance as related to a terrorism investigation.
***
The FBI has broad definitions that enable it to classify matters as domestic terrorism that actually are trespassing or vandalism, the inspector general said.
Regarding the Pittsburgh rally, controversy erupted in 2006 over whether the FBI had spied on protesters at the event several years earlier because of their anti-war views.
(Its not just trespassing and vandalism. According to Department of Defense training manuals, protest is also now considered "low-level terrorism". And see this, this and this).
And the state of Pennsylvania hired an Israeli-American company with extensive military and intelligence ties to put out "terror" alerts. The company - ITRR - describes itself as:
The preeminent Israeli/American security firm providing training, intelligence and education to clients across the globe.
ITRR explains:
The Institute of Terrorism Research and Response's research and analysis center, known as the Targeted Actionable Monitoring Center (TAM-C), is located in Israel. The Targeted Actionable Monitoring Center is staffed with former law enforcement, military, and intelligence professionals experienced in the production and utilization of intelligence products.
ITRR categorizes itself as a “Targeted Action Monitoring Center” that does not function as a “clipping service, but a powerful fusion center of battle-tested operatives, analysts, and researchers who have real-life experience fighting both terrorists and criminal entities [...] distinguished among other agencies by its access to a vast network of on-the-ground key-sources in virtually every region of the world.”

In Pennsylvania, ITRR apparently considered opponents of gas drilling, and attendees at anti-BP candlelight vigils and a gay and lesbian festival to be potential terrorists.

And as Pittsburgh Live notes, the ITRR may have also tracked and disabled "activist groups that planned to protest the 2009 Group of 20 economic conference in the city". And see this and this.
For more on "fusion centers" and the use of national security apparatus for corporate purposes, see this, this and this.
Big brother has come to the birthplace of America. ITRR does not just operate in Pennsylvania. It's website states:
The client list of the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response is confidential.

***
Training clients of the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response have ranged
from
• US military and law enforcement personnel in Israel
• the South Central Pennsylvania Taskforce
• AMTRAK counter-terror unit
• New Hampshire law enforcement agencies

Kitat Kohenut and the Israeli Police State in Amerikka

http://mark1marti2.wordpress.com/2010/0 ... -amerikka/

Download

A perpetual state of insomnia may come your way by reading these articles in conjunction with Internet releases chronicling the development of a Jewish paramilitary force in the continental United States, called Kitat Kohenut (“rapid response units“). UNM Israel Alliance’s post on this New York-based organization informs the reader that a training camp is being constructed in northern Arizona.

But Kitat Kohenut indicates that this is only the beginning of their plans for armed operations within the United States. They definitively state that:

“Our short term goal is to form rapid response teams in the larger Jewish communities in the US. These include New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Right now we are in the process of building up these Kitot Konenut (response teams) to get to the point where they are entirely self sufficient and able to cover the entire area of Jewish settlement within those urban centers, as well as their suburbs. We are starting in those areas as we see them as being the most visible, and therefore most likely targets of terrorist and antisemitic attacks.

“Our long term goal is to set up response teams in every community – no matter how big or small – throughout the US. These will include smaller communities like Houston, Dallas, Seattle, San Diego, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Chicago, Cleveland, St. Louis, Denver, Philadelphia, Detroit, Milwaukee, Atlanta, etc.”

Kitat Kohenut proceeds to describe itself as a protection force comprised of volunteer Jews, many with backgrounds in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), with a mission allegedly made necessary by the spectre of attacks on Jews in the continental United States by groups ranging from Islamic fundamentalists to poor rural whites and neo-Marxists. A perusal of their official web page and MySpace blog, along with many other posts on the Net, will create a composite profile of mission and ideology.

Yonatan Stern and Scott Brown, the heads of Kitat Kohenut, tell UNM Israel Alliance that:

“We are aware of a large and growing number of Islamic terrorist compounds popping up all around the US. In fact, one of the largest ones, ‘Islamberg’, is only a 20 minute drive from our own Israeli Military Training camp in the Catskill Mountains of Upstate New York. They are so close to us that we can practically hear the gunshots from their terrorist training sessions. We also know that many of these groups are affiliated with Al Queida, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Jumaat Al Islamiyya, Hezbolla, etc. They are heavily recruiting Black Americans who are incarcerated for violent crimes in prisons throughout the US. These criminals are educated in their doctrine of hate and taught to be Islamic fighters, suicide bombers, etc. Many of these Black converts, as well as Arab Americans have been captured or killed fighting coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Stern and Brown must be kidding. Any perusal of the Homeland Security magazines at Barnes and Noble or Borders clearly reveals the Israeli intelligence community’s overt public dominance of the American Homeland Security department, and all the security seminars around the country being advertised in these publications. If an Islamic terrorist training camp is being tolerated in upstate New York, the Hidden Hand has reasons for it. And if the American Homeland Security types are afraid of Islamic Fundamentalists, Skinheads, and Neo-Nazis and their real or potential access to high-powered weaponry and paramilitary training, what about an organization dedicated to the Zionist principles of Jewish racial supremacism enforced at the point of a gun barrel?

For those of you who have trouble sleeping, I don’t recommend reading the alternative explanation of the events in New York on September 11, 2001 offered by Nashid Abdul-Khaaliq. Nor would I recommend ex-CIA station chief Philip Giraldi’s recent essay in Pat Buchanan’s “The American Conservative,” entitled “Mossad in America.”

Our long term goal is to set up response teams in every community – no matter how big or small – throughout the US.

And what about espionage operations against the people and government of the United States conducted by the State of Israel? The Lavon Affair, the USS Liberty attack on June 8, 1967, the Pollard spy case, the PROMIS affair, and the Rosen-Weissman AIPAC and Ben Ami Kadish espionage cases are but a few examples.
And then there is the Kennedy assassination. My review of Michael Collins Piper’s Final Judgment is still relevant a few years later, along with the discomforting knowledge that Israel nuclear dissident and political prisoner, Mordechai Vanunu, affirms Piper’s well substantiated thesis that the ultimate reason for Mr. Kennedy’s violent end involved his tussle with Ben Gurion over the Israeli nuclear program and international inspection of their Dimona plant. Having read thousands of pages on the subject of the end of America’s 35th President, ranging from Anthony Summers’s Conspiracy to David Lifton’s Best Evidence and Jim Marrs’s Crossfire: The Plot that Killed Kennedy, I found Piper’s thesis to be inherently preposterous—until I read the book.

And then there is September 11, 2001, and what Israeli intelligence and American neo-conservatives now have planned in the nature of a preemptive strike on Iran as an expansion of the present disasters in Iraq and Afghanistan.
How will such ongoing insanity be sold to an American public sick of endless war, national debt, declining economy, and cultural cancer?
The tried-and-true methods of the past will be dredged up again. A false flag operation will occur, presumably tied to Iran. Jewish-owned American media consortiums, and Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News, will sell the official line on the meaning of the event and the identity of the perpetrators. Executive Orders will end freedom of expression on the Internet, and establish draconian domestic suppression of responsible dissent well beyond that already produced by the USA Patriot Acts and the panoply of similar legislation post-2001.
Posse Comitatus will end. The American military will assume un-Constitutional powers in domestic law enforcement. Illegal warrantless electronic surveillance of law-abiding American citizens will increase. Demonization of honest opponents of international and domestic policies perpetrated by the advocates of the New World Order will outstrip anything heretofore experienced.
And then there is Kitat Kohenut. Is it an armed citizens’ movement designed to protect Jewish-Americans from criminal predators, foreign and domestic?
Or is it the ultimate Fifth Column, an IDF/Mossad false flag operation and kidon team being ultimately trained and placed in every American community of substance, an instrument for bringing a 21st century version of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 to these United States?
The sinking of the USS Maine in Havana Harbor, the sinking of the Lusitania, FDR’s machinations on Pearl Harbor as chronicled by Robert Stinnett, the assassination of John Kennedy, the Gulf of Tonkin resolution, and the events of September 11, 2001 in New York are terrifyingly suggestive. Yes, another tried-and-true false flag incendiary is coming. On this point there can be little doubt.
But the ultimate question is this: Will the American public buy it this time?
[Mark Glenn and Mark Dankof will soon be discussing Kitat Kohenut on The Ugly Truth. Stay tuned. . . .]
