I'm forced to point out that if you trace the conspiracy so strongly back to Marcello that you have to connect that to the man who gave Marcello orders - Meyer Lansky. And once you do that you have to admit that Lansky was strongly connected to the CIA-protected French Connection. The American government itself is the first to say "follow the money". Well if you do that with the Marcello connection the money leads to Lansky, who was the chief financial officer for the American Syndicate and chief liaison to the money infrastructure to which CIA was directly connected and participating in as an illegal funding source. I think part of the urgency for CIA to kill Kennedy was the fact they realized once Kennedy had defused the Cold War he and Bobby would then turn their energies toward this illegal CIA/mob cabal.


So maybe DiCaprio isn't so crazy after all.
